[SMRT] Alstom Movia R151 [831/832] & [829/830] at CG1 Expo (CGL)

The Alstom Movia R151 has now run on regular CGL services, today on run 101 and 102! Incredible to see these new trains serve the airport. Very horrendous flatwheels on these two trains though. These two trains were joined by a C151, set 047/048.
SGT2581 Announcement: With LTA announcing the retirement of the First, Second and Third Generation Trains in Singapore, (Kawasaki Heavy Industries Contract 151, Siemens Aktiengesellschaft C651 and Kawasaki Nippon Sharyo C751B), both of us will be filming more of these trains on both NSL and EWL, to commemorate the great service that these trains have provided.

The futuristic design of the new trains themselves fit well with the futuristic designs of both Expo and Changi Airport. The ride experience though a little noisy because of the flatwheels, was rather pleasant and smooth, and the interior design gives off the "airport line train" vibes. 💯💯

Non-KHI trains (including R151) on CGL are always the best. I think the R151 suits the CGL better (similar to KNS) due to their futuristic livery with the unique CGL stations that is different from the mainline ones, just as the C151B trains on NSL (which is basically the line's main fleet). Now that the R151 have entered service on both lines starting this year onwards (especially with the long-awaited NSL), hopefully the 'KHI purge' off the rails can start as soon as possible since these are too old and problematic to run, and allow more newer trains (especially KSF, while R151 can have a mix of both lines although I prefer most of them on NSL) to run on EWL / CGL eventually
