This is great as I am looking at these 2 devices. If I already have a do400 for my headphone amp and dac, would you recommend the d0200 mk2 then for the speaker amp? The do300 mk2 is balanced a d the do400 already has a better headphone amp and amazing dac. I prefer the design of the do300 to match do400 but not if it sounds worse for my use case which is speakers only (dali Oberon 1). Please advise me? Thanks

Get the AO300 if it matches the aesthetic more, it should be very similar in sound, but having stuff that fits with the feng shui of the room is important for enjoying your setup.

Using the AO300 hooked up to Dali Menuet and Optikon 1/MK2 since 6 months and can say, that soundwise this Class D DAC/AMP is a bargain considering the audio market! The minor downside is that you can hear, at least on my purchased item from Audiophonics, some white noise whilst item is turned on without playing music ( from USB / AUX) . From my understanding this issue coms from either internal SMPSU /switching mode power supply or the PCM amplification sections itself. May it be because both are on the same PCB, enclosed in a small housing, or due to not enough high FQ filtering afterwards. And yes I´m using clean deicated power connection.

The DO400 is a DAC and headphone amplifier, not a speaker amplifier with a built in DAC.

Since DO400 has no speaker amplifier part, just dac and headphone amp, it is worth mentioning that DO400 has a much better headphone amplifier and DAC inside for that moeny, but it won't provide the same usability as AO300

@@akhilvijayan2933 For a stereo amp in this price range, I don't think I can recommend anthing else.. AO200MKII is simpler to use and more effective as a stereo AMP, but AO300 is better if you need a DAC, so if you don't have an AMP, ao300 will easily win in value, while if you do have a good DAC, AO200 can save you some money.

Hii, yes, absolutely, they take standard plugs. If the plugs are really big (had a pair of super large ones from Amazon), you may need to clamp them a bit to fit, but that would be true for all AMPs, but it does take standard plugs.

I hope you'll have lots of fun with it if you decide to go for it! I was not overly enthusiastic about it, because I personally like the sound of AO200MKII more, and AO300's softer tuning is not necessarily in line with my rock and metal, but I do hope my video review will be helpful!
