That’s true. Off the top of my head I can only name Seulgi from Red Velvet because I don’t know the positions of other KPOP groups in SM.

D.O's voice is like a warm hug. It's bright when it wants to be, and deep when it wants to be; my favourite! Followed by Chen, then Baekhyun. Taeyeon's voice is outstanding too!

Roanne Bello not really, some people that debuted were lacking like a lot of SMs rappers are rappers because their vocals aren’t on par with the main/lead vocalists I love literally all groups but only with NCT did SM give good rappers, the rappers before them were pretty much because of visuals (except Amber)

@@idontknowanymore9966 not totally true. The rappers in Sm basically are forced to became one because they are baritones, not because they can't sing. For example Chanyeol is a really good singers, has a pretty good technique for a rapper, but Sm put him as a rapper

@@idontknowanymore9966 ah i guess you're a little wrong in there. I mean. Chanyeol is a good singer, and Mark are singing when he's on SM audition but SM put him on Rap position. Also (From what i heard) Jaehyun are Rapping when he's on SM audition, But SM put Jaehyun on vocal position. And Some Rappers on SM can sing really good. And some singers on SM can rap too.

FACT: Most of SM artist were picked based of their potential. They were picked by SM agents, some like taeyong were picked by scratch(like taeyong doesn't know anything but still tried hard and look where he is now from bottom to top). Some were persuaded by agents outside their school outlooking tgeir potential to learn and adapt. Some are naturally talented.

Yeah, SM is definitelly not just about visuals. YG on the other hand...they were known for some of the best artists in kpop and visuals were not on the first place. But if you saw YG treasure box survival show...YG literally said visuals are now (in that show I guess) in the first place. That's sad. Edit: spelling

Honestly no one in sm is considered average looking. While YG have some of the best legends and they are sometimes average looking xD dont judge a company by its visuals kpop fans

For me, every idol in SM is a vocalist themselves 😂 cuz like even rappers can sing (for ex: Shindong, Chanyeol, Minho and etc.) Hence, we have our Universe Big Star Heechul too.

bearsquares :O it’s even crazier that Wendy had a vocal nodule during debut and still managed to be one of the best vocalist. Imo she is the best 3rd gen vocalist alongside Chen. And even Jonghyun had a vocal nodule and managed to still have an amazing voice. And I also believe Luna is the best 2nd gen main vocalist.

Yes, that's why they have the best idols in the industry. People who praise the "care" (aka lousy) some companies take of their idols blindly just ingest half baked products. SM training is painful. And that's their job, it needs to be done to set the standard.

Onew deserves more respect and recognition as a singer and artist. Jonghyun, Key, and Taemin can each hold their own plus some, and Minho’s voice has improved so much and is so nice and soothing when he gets to sing. Jonghyun is the number 1 vocalist in kpop. Period. I was surprised to not see Krystal, Jess, Zhou Mi, Key, or Ten.

This is why i love SM groups, they are TALENTED. Vocals, visuals, dance, performance, everything on point. But SHINee is my favorite, their voices are unique and beautiful, all of them are amazing singers. Taemin, Onew and Jonghyun are freaking incredible

@@cantspell8007 wdym SHINee got some of the best dancers (Key is super underrated but he's not far behind Taemin, Minho is also a great dancer even Jjong and Onew are pretty decent although not considered dancers) and arguably the best dancer in all of Kpop (Taemin). Most importantly they work so well together and their performances are top-tier. They are almost always singing live while dancing barely any1 else does that anymore in the era of lipsyncing that is rn especially.

@@zuziiiiiiiiii I value your opinion but I disagree. I have heard him sing for 10 years and he is soooo goood. I am not hating other idols but Kibum is definitely better than some main vocals: Rose, Jihyo (if I name more idols, people will think I am hating them so naming only two). I also know that there are many idols talented (eg: BTOB vocal line) than Kibum but that doesn't mean he is bad. He is very good, it's hard for people to realize it because of his skills as an entertainer, dancer for which he stands out more.

marcille s I personally do not believe that high notes make an idol better vocalist. High notes strain them and some high notes are hard to listen to because we feel their pain indirectly. This is why I love Kibum, he knows what is best for him and he can assess his skills because of this. He knows! This exact reason makes me say confidently that he is a good vocalist.

Just to put into perspective SM’s vocal training and technique amongst main/lead vocalists, Taemin (one of the best dancers in the industry) can not only support but resonate. My personal favorite vocal lines of SM: KRY(Super Junior) - Like wow, can anyone even compete with this vocal line? I'm fairly positive that Kyuhyun can outsing almost every male kpop vocalist out there. Then there's Yesung with the amazing vocal color and Ryeowook with the amazing tone and pitch. ChenBaekSoo(EXO) - I like this vocal line for its variety. They each have their own strengths (Like D.O. with his vocal agility and perfect pronounciation in every language he sings, Chen with his broad vocal range, and Baekhyun with his singing technique and powerful belting) Shinee - I'm being quite biased at this one because I really love how Onew's voice sounds, but I have to hand it to Jonghyun man. His solo songs are amazing and so soulful. There's something in his voice that just makes you feel the song so much. So my top three are male groups lol, but for female I really like SNSD's and Red Velvet's vocal lines.
