We should talk about the genius vocal direction of this song. It's not the usual emotional voice Taeyeon go for in Fine or Time Lapse. She sound depressed, like she is done with it all, tired of life...which make the songs ×10 times better. Genius

This song is emotionally illustrating a toxic and abusive relationship. Her lover, played by the actor by the name of Hong Kyung, is manipulative and abusive towards Taeyeon. Though seen through their relationship that she is clearly hurting, they "act" like nothing is happening (literally act as star characters in a play of some sort) so the world doesn't know what is truly happening behind their relationship. Taeyeon simply "can't help herself" and is stuck in love despite all of the pain she has gone through. The ending shows her final breakdown, as herself and not as her acting role, but alas her lover made it look like it was apart of the act and their relationship shall never be known to the world.

She's been at this for fifteen years and she just keeps getting better and better.
