Fun fact: the intro is actually a "haka", for those who don't know what a haka is. Is basically a New Zealand tribal native Dane that they perform it to show respect. In New Zealand in the beginning of every rugby game they perform this to show respect for their opponent. This song is so ahead of its time. It’s the reason I got into nct (127) 4 years ago. And after all these years it still sounds as fresh and ahead of its time as ever. Simon Says is true timeless music. The music video too.. beautiful cinematography, outfits, choreo, and an aesthetic you’d find at high fashion shows. Don’t even get me started on the iconic lines, adlibs, and one of the greatest bridges ever built in a kpop song. I love you Simon Says, you’re everything I wanted from a kpop boy group’s title track. The whole package, must I say. A one-of-a-kind audiovisual experience I’ll always hold close to my heart.
