She was only 16 when this song came out. No group to hide behind, just her in the spotlight. She was a soloist and center stage from the age of 13. Not many kpop artists can survive the pressures of super stardom at such a young age. She should have all our respect, especially while releasing one of the most well known kpop songs of all time, well before she was even an adult.

The people who born in my generation will know her as a goddess from south korean. They called her korean Queen in our generation. For real. Even the "dancing while singing live" was invented by her. In one interview show with Lee Dong Wook, she said back then lipsync in S.Korea was common meanwhile in Japan lipsync wasn't accepted. She debuted in Japan without preparation and got "slapped" really hard after her debut showcase. Then she went to U.S and got proper training.

I just watched the cover and it really wasn't that great. I'm sure she was nervous to be singing BoA's song and that must have contributed to it, but her voice wasn't very strong and she didn't have much of a range. However, I did watch her sing at the beginning of someone's performance on Immortal Songs and it was beautiful. I'm pretty sure she was singing in French.

BoA is the reason I went into kpop and she will always be the queen of kpop. It still makes me sad how people think girls generation is the queen of kpop or the goddess of kpop, but BoA truly is the queen of kpop and she deserves that title so much more.

+Jessica Hu BoA is the Queen of Kpop, no doubt. SNSD are still legends too, though, as the greatest kpop girl group.

Jessica Hu If you watch the SM documentary "I AM." there is a clip from when SNSD are still rookies and they meet BoA at an SM party for her for the first time, and they are like freaking out crying. It's so cute! ^^

Both of them are queens though, only in different terms. BoA is a queen of solo female while SNSD is a queen of girl group.
