Some highlights from this (spoilers obviously): 16:00 - Ouch. That was not a great time to have 2nd phase happen. A rare moment where Elusive Eclipse backfires. Lucifer even crit and triggered his passive as a final "screw you" moment in that turn too. 18:06 - You mentioned it in a comment but its worth repeating: Root of Evil getting rid of Lucifer's Impaler Animus charge is a godsend. I will need to remember that trick for these challenges. 18:17 - Whenever Lucifer uses Hot Dark Matter at the start of his turn has the potential to be a real bad time. Thankfully Magma Axis didn't double hit anyone. 18:48 - Yeah this is why Impaler's Revenge sucks to get hit by: taking 1.5k off the cuff has some real "Nocturne was here" energy. on top of triggering enduring soul on your Lucifer it also sent him back to stock a a giant middle finger. At least Masakado said "not today" and managed to dodge that physical attack. 21:40 - Holy crap, morning star did almost 350+ damage with shield of god on. Also this version of Lucifer having 4 press turns is nuts. The fact that Chaotic Will only makes the fight somewhat manageable is crazy. 28:20 - case in point why 4 press turns is crazy: the instant he got two and a half press turns, Masakado gets blown up (pun slightly intended). 30:00 - Daaaaaaaamn Masakado coming in clutch again by surviving with 1hp!! 33:24 - Kresnik with a quick cameo. One of my fave demons! too bad he explodes in two hits lol. And Masakado wraps it up with a nice Freikugel. Man that fight looks rough as hell.

- Tsukuyomi did the exact same thing, which is even more tilting it happened twice. - Yeah, Root of Evil is busted in this specific case. Just stupid it costs so much and isn't that useful otherwise. - Magma Axis still double hits, sometimes, but at least doesn't crit, so I'm safe. - Yeah, what I hate is that it can activate mid-turn, meaning it can lead to that bullshit sometimes. - Morning Star deals over 3k damage yeah, and it adds a Press Turn to Lucifer the next turn to boot, hence the Chaotic Will spam. - Yeah, that's brutal. I make it so he never spams anything else than Megidolaon or Morning Star. - Yeah, literal 1 HP survival, no Endure lol. - Yeah, got no use for Kresnik aside from Omagatoki: Luck (kept him only cuz I like his design but would've replaced it by Amanozako if not.) This fight is by far the hardest of the game. Lucifer simps will be happy to know that lol

@@kaiserkreuz2110 I don't know, the post-game and challenge fights just don't feel like SMT to me anymore. Buffs still matter but that's about it. Masakdo felt especially egregious. Weak to anything so just spam your strongest attacks and hope that his almighty spam doesn't crit you to death. Rinse and repeat.

@@noahb.4440 I mean, I agree with you. I keep saying it, but what I loved with Nocturne is how Defense wasn't a thing. Vitality was just for Max HP and that's it. Also stacking more buffs, dealing with boss patterns and counteracting as necessary, also instakills were much more of a threat in older games. Almighty spams are like, the worst thing yeah, which is why I spammed Chaotic Will on Lucifer, or he'd just squash my team with two Megidolaon... very (not) fun.

@@kaiserkreuz2110idk tho bs like almighty crit spams seems like prime smt. Jus like smt 2 yhvh or lucifer where you basically were hoping they wouldn’t dodge every single attack. Smt 4 Minotaur which unless you grind you have to hope to not have Walter or get criticaled and have him smirk and basically just kill you. Persona 3 Elizabeth literally can just massacre you no skill possible can stop it. DDs2 Satan and dds1 Demi fiend literally are just unfair. Like idk smt is some bs most of the time

I mean, I like that kinda bullshit, and tbh I like that the challenges go to level 999. As long as I can make full use of the PTS while making good damage, I'm good with it. Masakado, for example, isn't really that because of his Diarama and Freikugel spams if I overuse the PTS to my advantage.

You can fight him, provided you did the True Neutral route on the Canon of Creation.

You can. I got him on my first CoV playthrough just from having the required quest demons obtained before reaching the throne bosses.

@@blastmole299 Yeah, if you get it, then in Vengeance the game asks you if you wanna beat a powerful demon (Law/Chaos Lucifer) or an extremely powerful demon (neutral Lucifer, with the three phases.)

Not as absurd as Nuwa's Lightnign Storm's damage, but the fact he can act right after is indeed absurd. I had to spam Chaotic Will, or it wouldn't have worked. I need to replace Masakado with another big damager who can withstand Confusion and Charm.

@@J0oBies Yeah, his raw damage is absurd. Can't even use Omagatoki: Critical because I need the gauge for Shield of God. Thank god he doesn't heal past phase one...

@@J0oBies No, just to endure and get a free turn, but he got clapped immediately regardless, so I should've gone with another demon... or need to up his Vit to 999 too. Should do that with Abaddon too tbh. Also just checked the null to both Confusion and Charm demons and the only two you can get are Naamah and Zaou-Gongen, whose Innates suck...

27:20 why did Satan not counter the Evil Gleam? I thought it was a guaranteed ailment counter.

Apparently it's not 100%. Or it's only on damaging attacks with ailment chance.

One thing i hate about SMT game is the lack of enemy intelligence at any difficulty. Why TF did the enemy do the same move (physical or magic) on the same target knowing that it is already blocked, drained, or repelled, even on the so called godborn difficulty, meh..

True. The only boss that isn't this bad is Demi-Fiend, since once he knows you have a Repel Phys, he starts spamming Freikugel. I will say, though, it did help me get through some headaches.

I hope by SMT games you also mean Persona because yes their A.I is scripted in a bad way and I don't know why they didn't let their A.I learn our character while fighting

The AI was actually clean in 4 Final. Alas when 5 vanilla came out in 2021; it somehow reverted to being bad again.

To be fair, the AI making mistakes actually makes some of these fights feasible. If some challenge bosses had actual good AI the fight would be a goddamn nightmare (see Lucifer lvl 999). I do miss 4a style murder AI sometimes though.

@@Magnet977 Still, Atlus should provide us an option to enable the smart AI, im certain this will pose real challenge to us rather than these LV 999 boss who still act like a donkey.

Demi-Fiend's. It blocks everything, but no innate Repel/Drain.

Yup. definitely gonna be doing that for people who want to attempt this. The three with this version of Lucifer are definitely the hardest, just because of how unmanageable he becomes at the last phase.

is this the HARDEST battle in the game? level 999 hard battle for humanity? what is your opinion? now I am fighting Satan Godborn Hard. I hope to finish him later.

Nah, there are two harder challenges, which are both 4-boss rushes ending with this version of Lucifer. They're all harder than Satan on Godborn, which is mainly due to the stat checks.

Yeah, I'll post all my builds when I'm done with the two remaining fights, so it's final and fool-proof. I maxed all necessary stats for demons, so either Strength of Magic isn't maxed out depending on which demon.

@@kaiserkreuz2110 how come the morning star at 26:45 did only 355hp dmg? I'm on lvl700 of battles for humanity alone and even with shield of god, it does 2k plus dmg.

@@Njin8492 You probably switched out a character after activating it, which undid the Shield of God.
