Singapore Management University (SMU) was privileged to host Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership Lecture Series on Thursday, 20 September 2018.
In the first part of the event, consisting of a lecture by Datuk Seri Anwar, he started by addressing the student population and shared that the purpose and aim of education is the assimilation of knowledge for the dissemination of truth. He also regaled the audience with his journey as a politician in Malaysia and how he overcame the many tribulations that were in his path.
Held at the SMU Hall, the event saw close to 1,200 attendees consisting of the foreign diplomatic community, chambers of commerce, the SMU Board of Trustees, School’s Advisory Board members, faculty, staff, students, and alumni, as well as principals, teachers and students from other educational institutions.

He is the only politic man among all others who speaks fluent English without any Malay word added to his English msg. I think he must have good result in other subjects such as to differentiate btwnn History from Geografy . very special edition from God. if those who understood what Mr Ho had said in between his lines tt Anwar was employed by Tun as finance Minister and at that time he noticed the misused of finance in terms of cronies ... He was right or rather to say even now he is right.

Datuk Anwar quote from J Kennedy is great. He obviously admires President Kennedy a lot. He & Dr Mahathir are reformed Malaysian politicians. Commoners who distort Anwar, the wisdom that you possess is no where near to that of he possesses. Good leadership should transcend religion, gender or status. Humility and understanding of people is what distinguish a good leader from the foil ones. If all leaders put politics of good conscious in mind and strive for the good course of people that nation will thrive. We are waiting for you the Prime Minister in waiting. Hopefully all the humility and lessons learnt over the years can be put to good manners to propel our beloved nation Malaysia to a new paradigm of success and with a soul of excellence.
