Snagging BIG Baits for Stripers (Do-It Molds Snag Hooks)

Күн бұрынSnagged some big baits (Alewives) for some early season Stripers. The Alewives were running like crazy!! I used a Do-It Mold to make the snag hooks for the Alewives. They worked pretty good! Hopefully next time we get a 28" fish so we can do a catch and cook Striper edition!

Awesome video man! I was just wondering if you’ve ever tried Sabiki rigs for those guys? I don’t know where this is but up in Albany NY we catch those herring on sabiki rigs with a rod and reel. Very fun that way too.

Hey Lucas, Yes! I use those too! It seems to change day to day what will work. I think it has to do with the amount of stripers that are in because some days I can fill a sabiki on every hook with them and other days they won't touch them (even though the herring are still in there super thick). I could be wrong on why they'll bite or not, but that's why I always have both in my bag because it changes so frequently. Hope your season is going great! Thanks for checking out my video!

Live Free Fish More up here in upstate NY the striper run is over. There are definitely a couple schoolies in the Hudson still. But the big girls spawned and headed back for the Atlantic. This season my father and I landed four really nice ones. The biggest being my first ever at 23 pounds. This year was the first time my dad and I ever fished for stripers. It was definitely a learning curve but now I’m hooked! They fight so hard! Tight lines!
