DIY Jewelry Tutorial - Peyote Stitch Beaded Rings with Even Count Peyote Stitch

Snails and Fairy Dust

Күн бұрын

In this video, you will learn the basics of weaving a beaded ring using an even-count peyote stitch. This is an excellent project for a beginner beader because it comes together quickly.
Once you have mastered even count peyote, you might want to try odd count peyote stitch. I have a tutorial with a free ring pattern here • Odd Count Peyote Stitc...
I have a digital pdf of the project in the video available which includes instructions, 4 patterns and templates to help you design your own ring patterns. You can find it at the links below.

My mind is blown.... I've only ever done peyote on a beam loom..... YOU MEAN I DON'T EVEN NEED THE FREAKING LOOM!?!??!
@snailsandfairydust
@snailsandfairydust 10 ай бұрын
Hahaha! It’s true, you don’t need a loom. But I should point out that this stitch lines up more like a brick inside of straight lines like a loom. You can still create amazing patterns though. 😀

O it's been so many years since I've seen this kind of bead work. I used to watch my foster momma make thunderbird earrings this way, then learned how but so much trauma has happened and so many years have passed I've forgotten how. It was truly relaxing to watch. It just felt like being home.

Oh, this is killing me! I do NOT need a new hobby, but I’ve always been interested in beading and after watching this video I just might be popping by a local craft store & picking up some beginner-level supplies. I love the idea of small projects like these rings to start with. (I actually went on Etsy and bought a couple of peyote stitch rings in the hope of satisfying my curiosity, but it didn’t work. I’ll give those rings to my sister for a birthday present!😂 Look what you did!😅

I bought quite a few pieces of pearl jewelry while in Cape Town / South Africa, a few years ago. There were some that came to the conference I was at, to offer their beautiful work to us participants and they had a lot of work with them. I saw the same type of things in stores there too, but it all was in a slightly smaller beads than she uses here. The type of beads aren’t all uniformly made though like the ones she uses here. The beads are slightly rounded. I think the diameter is about the same, but those she uses here are taller than the ones in the necklaces, earrings etc. I bought some of.

Thanks a lot for this video (which out of the blue came in my feed)!!! I didn’t know I needed this, but actually I think that is something I’ll enjoy. Also, I think it would be cool to make bracelets and rings using traditional knitting patterns!!! It would be real cool for small card purses, makeup bags etc. too… Small trinket boxes? Lots of neat small items, e.g. also matchboxes for by the fireplace at home or at the family cabin… Etc etc… The fantasy sets the limits, I’m sure… One could also use the beads that kids us for beading, only sew with thicker thread, maybe (yarn?) and make larger things. Imagine cool sofa pillows, toiletry bags, diary cover etc. etc. SMH, I got going there, didn’t I, LOL… I’ll stop now!!! But, thanks a lot again, I think this is brilliant!!! I’ve always wondered how it was done. I thought it was woven… 🤗

Dobrý den. ❤️ koukám na vás v české republice. Prosím. Moc prosím můžete natočit více prstýnků ? Co mate na začátku videa? Různé ty vzory. Chtěla bych se podél vás učit.

I've been researching Peyote Stitch to do with my Girl Scout troop. Your video is very helpful, and I think I'm ready to gather supplies and give it a try. Once I get it down for myself and feel like I can teach it to the girls, I do need to know how to make it smaller to fit the girls' smaller fingers without altering the design. Could you tell me how to figure that out?

The ring in this video is very adjustable because you once you get past the design section, you just keep adding the same color. So for smaller fingers, add less, bigger fingers add more. You could also “ measure” fingers ahead of time with a strip of paper so they can keep track of where they need to end. Good luck!

There’s no knots when you finish it? I would be so scared it would still fall apart on me. 😂😂

Hi. Firstly, I just want to say what a fantastic tutorial. The air has been blue while I was trying this. But I went back and found my mistake, thank you. Secondly, I am really confused about bead sizes. I'm in the UK, and size 11/0 Miyuki delica beads are really tiny. But the size 8/0 delica Miyuki is too big. And yet, what you're using looks different to what I have. So if anyone knows, please help lol

Hi. I actually live in the UK too. 😍 I moved here form the US two years ago. The beads I’m using are Miyuki Delicas size 11 and sizes are actually the same in every country. Are you certain your beads are Miyuki Delicas?

@Snails and Fairy Dust lol I'm beginning to wonder now. It says miyuki delica 11/0 on the tube. Very strange 🤔 I will have to keep looking. And welcome to the UK x

Ok. I've ordered your pack on etsy. That way I'm not going to end up buy loads of the wrong size, 😅. Though they will be used I'm sure 😅

@@louisejackson8770 Hi Louise, I was a bit confused because I don't currently sell a kit with beads for rings, but I see that you have purchased a digital download with instructions and patterns - it is not a physical product. If you are looking for Miyuki Delicas in the UK, I recommend Spoilt Rotten Beads -www.spoiltrottenbeads.co.uk that is where I shop for them.
