That’s an “egg eating snake.” It’s the main way they feed, it’s normal lol. They regurgitate the shell afterwards, it’s actually pretty impressive.

It's not painful, I think, egg eating snakes are made to do this... though it does seem... well a human wouldn't be able to stretch their mouths, much less their bodies, in such a manner. But snakes? They can tolerate some extension. Egg eaters more so. It's quite amazing to see what superpowers exist to a degree for natural beings. Humans got intelligence of such great capacity, and other animals make due with stuff like, this.

I kept one as a pet when I was a kid on a farm near Rustenburg in South Africa. I couldn't really find any eggs to feed it as it was quite small so I released it.

I always feel sorry for snakes, they have no teeth to crunch their food, no limbs to help them, the only way is to swallow their food...biblical stories destroyed the way people see this animal, I love snakes
