Man i remember being high and drunk one night walking back from the bar by myself feeling like i had no purpose in life ... this song came to mind that night and it always takes me back to that moment. Now 6 years later i finally found my purpose in life and have been going after my dreams, goals and my vision. Life is a journey. @@adamjohngeorgecollins7806 I agree a ton of amazing artists are overlooked simply because they aren't chosen by the industry. It's obvious to people like you and I that those that hit it big only got there because the owners of the industry chooses who will. It all comes down to who is promoted most. The more the industry pushes certain artists, the more they will be accepted. I'm convinced that people will like whatever is fed to them as long as the music is relatable, catchy, recorded/mixed well, and the singer has a decent voice. There are tons of great artists that fit this model and never get the same recognition as those that are chosen by the industry to advance. Tinashe and FKA Twigs are examples of amazing artists who's record label chooses not to promote them as they deserve.

She’s been nothing but consistent since In Case We Die and is a living icon to me regardless of the recognition she does or doesn’t receive. So true. Saw her live by complete chance a few months ago (scored free tickets) and it was absolutely incredible, one of the best concerts I'd been to in so long. This song always takes me back to being in my early 20's and going out to the clubs with the old crew- and reminds me that those "good" old days weren't as good as I remember them. I love that this song dared to tell the truth about the clubbing experience for a lot of people who (on the outside) look as if they're the happiest people in the world. I think that's why so many people loved this song when it came out- it felt like that comforting hand on the shoulder, that voice saying "I understand. Me too."

I hear you on that. First time I heard this tune (almost a year ago now) it resonated with me because of the honesty of the lyrics. Made me think of the times over the years I've been out at some noisy, crowded club at 2 or 3am, drunk and mellow, wondering "Is this as good as it gets?" and feeling as if I'd rather be home in bed- while all around me people dance to yet another "Everybody party/ pop bottles/ get wasted/ grab someone and shake your booty" cookie cutter Top 40 tune I couldn't give a fuck about... I love this tune because I remember those moments so well, feeling like I did and wondering if I was the problem and needed to lighten up a bit, get more loaded, grab some wasted girl on the dance floor instead and pretend I was having the best night of my life until I actually believed it? Listening to this song first time was like a hand on my shoulder and a voice saying "I know. Me too"...and the thing is, I got the sense there were a lot of other people out there who could identify with this feeling as well...and I love that they dared to put into song what me (and plenty of other people) think to themselves but don't dare say out loud because we don't want to spoil the fun for our friends or the people around us...

The better nights out were rarely the ones when going as part of an all-male party,and it helps if you can find a good group of friends in whose company you feel comfortable and can go with the flow and be yourself,not feel like you're being put on some kind of test or examination.
