In this podcast, Kushal speaks with Rajiv Malhotra about his latest book "Snakes in the Ganga: Breaking India 2.0". Rajiv Malhotra explains how Harvard University has become the epicenter of absurd social science experiments and how policy ideas generated from these experiments are being implemented in the Indian socio-political landscape funded by many Indian and American billionaires.

I fondly remember back in 2012-13 when I was still in college and had first discovered Rajiv Malhotra and his book and how it profoundly resonated with my fortunately based upbringing. And more importantly, how in the midst of everyone being what can today only be called 'woke', this man and his ideas found sanctuary in small limited circles of trusted friends and family members. Ek wo din tha, aur ek aaj ka din hai! In these 10 years, Indic thought has gained mainstream following and evolved an ecosystem of sorts that was so desperately needed.

We definitely agree that the book being different was a phenomenal book by Rajivji.Through the book we came to know that language is not just a tool of conversation but a tool of culture,swadharma,swarajya and swabhimaana.Rajivji we must pressurise BJP to Sanskritise English and Hindi for usage as official language by taking out official dictionaries by Govt of India.This serves many purposes like decolonizing language,correction of administrstive-judicial and legislative jargon.There is absolute necessity of opening of a Ministry for official languages of India.Which can serve as a tool of national integration by carrying out translation within Indian languages,construct central govt,courts and parliament websites in all official languages of India etc.Create state govt,judicial and admin websites in all official languages so that people of different states are well informed even though they don't know language of every state.

JSD has a point. I have read his vocabulary heavy first book and reading second one. I don't know about coloniality but it gave me a good perspective of what exactly happened in 1850s onwards, one sided attacks on Hindus without Hindus putting any good resistance. The whole non-violence trope and this where does this Owais bros "15 min police hata do, hinduon ko dekh lenge" comes from.
@pragyanshsingh6093

The history consolidation in jsd was the only right thing, because it did not contain any adulteration. The opinions and arguments of jsd with decoloniality is farce and tragic, and needs to be strongly fought against. And what is this, same side bs. Same side bs should hinder arguments and debates.

*Forgive but not forget!* Trump talked about hindu genocide ,the genocide of more than 15 cr hindus(also artificially engineered famines) changed great indian's mindset with rigidity and in this structureless poor society was generated discriminatory clan system with English laws as in these 800 yrs there was death of old Indian institutions by invaders through burning universities or eating up funds ,which is totally against scriptures as they mention importance of every sect,when we read any texts in Indian language translation we will know every art & culture embraced unity in diversity in which everything has a deep symbolic spiritual meaning..in ancient India there is no single evidence of genocide due to internal conflicts whereas other parts were full of conflicts(for e.g. certain westerns used to torture their people in brazen bull)

I do this citation thing all the time when I talk on such topics, I cite Rajiv Malhotra on every topic and others like Sankrant Sanu, Shankar Saran and other, Rajiv Malhotra ji taught me (through his YT videos) he always said it is bad and I truely felt bad that our ppl are not giving him due credit thats why I cite for every small which I came to know from him On Being Different book I will say that it will, what Kushal says, will "rewire" those Hindus who longs for an answer of this question that what is meant by one being a Hindu or what is Hindu religion itself, it gave the answer to me, unlike Kushal who got words from that book for his disbelief I got for the "truth", the truth about the "Hindu religion" itself also it helped to find out that not all religion are same, which is the biggest problem Hindus face while dealing with Abrahamics, this book along with Joseph Atwill's book Ceasar's Messiah (it shows that Christianity was a creation of Roman Emperors of Flavian dynasty) I got to know that Hindu religion is the truth, so the book helps a Hindu to know what his traditions are and is not same like what others have it helps to protect a Hindu's "faith" in his religion and prevents him to fall for another, so this is the significance of the book

Dr. Rajiv Malhotra reminds me of Swami Vivekananda. Indians are in deep slumber. As I try to introduce this book to engineering colleagues, many of who have M. Tech or PhD from IITs, I find that they hadn't even heard of the book until I mentioned it, let alone read it. When Bengal was the hot bed of freedom movement, Oxford injected Marxism into Bengali students and Manabendranath Roy founded CPI party. All the major left wing Bengali leaders right upto Jyoti Basu were from Oxford. By indoctrinating these students in Marxism, the British were able to not only neutralize them but turn some of them into anti Sanatan Dharma and Indian traditions & values. When I hear Justice Dhananjay Chandrachur's comments about definition of merit, I think in a very short time, Harvard has already succeeded in doing what Oxford took a long time to do.

An interesting point raised in this talk is about Hinduism giving primacy to individualism. Is that true? If the starting order of Truth is oneness which then utters "Let me be many", how can an individual who is a later construct, a compound substance (of गुण, तन्मात्रा, 33 देवता etc), be the primary locus of Hinduism? When quest of मोक्ष or pursuit of संयास is to give up individual identities of society, जाति, etc, how can Hinduism that stresses on giving up even the identity of oneself as an individual be individualistic?
@sadhakadhristi3754
@sadhakadhristi3754 Жыл бұрын
Kushal is stating that जाति & वर्ण template is outdated but funnily, both these words are used as equivalents 😂. वर्ण itself comes from गुण with predominance of सत्व in a ब्राह्मण and of तमस् in शूद्र. त्रिगुण is a building block of Hinduism and since it can never be given up and at best, its influence can be controlled, वर्ण is too fundamental an idea for Hinduism. And the core drive of Hinduism for all "individuals" is to take on either an identity where सत्व is dominant or become beyond गुण - which then again becomes a collective (like, for eg., all ऋषि living in ब्रह्मलोक or नैमिशारण्य). With all humility and my personal liking for Kushal, my request is for Kushal to dive deeper into the essence of Hinduism to see a third alternative beyond the binary of individualism or groupism as he is diving all ideologies.
@sadhakadhristi3754
@sadhakadhristi3754 Жыл бұрын
"Individualism" is not the locus of सनातन. Neither is group identity seen as problematic. Whether individual or जाति are aligned to धर्म is the core. And धर्म itself is driven by dominant गुण innate to such an individual apart from देश & काल. While वर्ण is not driven by family one is born to, one's कर्म determines one's वर्ण.‌ All this is basic सनातन 101 - this is the point I was making. आशा करता हूँ यह बात सीधा है 😊🙏

Rajiv ji is top notch intellectual. I was also a Dawkinian/Hitchens type Atheist. However, I must say that Dawkins or Hitchens never actually singled out Indian philosophies because they don’t know much about it. We put this Abrahamic lens on ourselves. Dawkins clearly says that he is a cultural Christian. But now Advaita Vedanta is tattooed on my arm. This philosophy takes the cake for me in terms of understanding oneself. But if your definition of a God is Abrahamic then I am still an Atheist. The definitions do matter.

Kushal keeps talking about objectivity while disagreeing with post-colonialism, post-modernism and even decoloniality. But can't subjectivities of societies have any say in the discourse and the truth can be different for societies based on their histories and their indigenous subjectivities? Decoloniality understands that making universal standards shouldn't be imposed on indigenous people and i don't think there is anything wrong in that. If you want to challenge these discourses and different frameworks or views why not invite Sai Deepak for a debate on decoloniality. You have previously had conversations with Sai but suddenly he stopped coming on the podcast.

I got the impression RM is referring to the woke social justice crowd when observing you cannot actually have social justice in the framework the (the woke group) is functioning within and promoting while KM is referring to the decoloniality group or others who recognise groups also as a legitimate unit and not fixated on the individual as the only legitimate unit like KM is.

Snakes in Ganga has become for Hindu Brahmin what Saitanik Verses is for Muslims. With a couple of differences like Hindus don't have outfits don't have terrorist outfits which will give death threats but only abuse on social media and matter didn't spread like wild fire . But this has proved one important point and that is Hindus do have a category which is very intolerant and that too educated unlike Muslims and this community existed since the time of Charwak who was said to be burnt alive.

kushal seems ashamed of his lower caste position relative to an accomplished thinker like rajiv. kushal is talking loudly and dropping names and theories to make himself feel better about his overall lower stature. hahahahahaha.. he seems annoyed that rajiv keeps mentioning how he was a little merchandise hustler in the past.. hahahahahahahaha can't stop laughing.. hahaha

When you don't understand the discourse and the aren't read enough that's your personal issue .. and you're trying to cope with your illiteracy by trying to act as if kushal is "low caste" because he helped Rajiv Malhotra ... Lmao keep coping

What I want to know is that people like Rajiv ji are working for the betterment of India but they have US citizenship. Why can't they keep Indian passports and use a green card if required? Once you are a US citizen, it is your duty to work for the US as you have made an oath of allegiance to the US.

@thisisanewusername Not just that. He was working in villages, and getting toilets installed. He was also a server for years serving food with his friends to anyone that needs it every week. There is more too - but there is more for you to laugh at and look down upon.

Oversimplifying and opining with a half digested idea is quite dangerous and the guy kushal might be doing so, just in the guise of sounding contemporary and urbane. It is poor analysis to consider ONLY a part of a position as an argument that highlights your own world view and just throw away the other parts. He is actually guilty of doing the same thing in his own analysis of varna and jaati that he complains that Harvard is doing by building a biased narrative with selective understanding. He glosses over the other aspects as if it is trivial. Varna/Jaati are considered a central results of Karma phala. Our Karma decide : Jaati , aayu and bhoga. To trivialize jaati and varna is to say that birth is accidental and previous janma has no existence or bearing on it. Now where does birth become accidental --- yeah, in the Abrahamanic systems !! lol Also he conveniently glosses over the fact that Varna is not present at the cost of Swadharma because if it was collectivism over Swadharma then Mahabharata wouldn't have been fought as all were Kshatriyas. My two cents here, english speaking urbane population shouldn't rush after everything english before taking time out to KNOW before opining. I respect Rajivji a lot and he himself always asks people to read more and understand and not be just a biosterous rabble rousing group !
