Between Mission and Kamloops here in British Columbia, Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway have entered a directional running agreement, sharing their respective trackage with one another. CP Rail track being used for eastbound traffic and CN track for westbound traffic to increase efficiency through the Thompson and Fraser Canyons. This agreement has been in place since 1999. In this video you see eastbound trains on CP track. The track with the slide tunnels on the opposite side of the river is CN track and would be used for westbound trains. It’s early spring and as it was on the day of filming, track blocks for maintenance and repair of the ROW are in place frequently. CN was repairing slide damage a few miles west at the time of filming.

@@b.c.trains2206 Thanks, I didn't even think of CP and the agreement makes sense.. I have been in the eastern part of Canada (niagra Falls), but hav had not toured much, other than the normal tourist areas. I guess I need to see more of Canada.
