What can I say? Anybody would be very proud to own a toolbox & tool collection like this!! You seem to have all your bases covered. Really top notch set-up! I know how hard it is to not only purchase a toolbox like your but I can really apparently the huge task of filling that toolbox with quality tools & the organization of all the tools in that box as well. I'm always pecking at other people's toolbox inventories, you can always learn something new. Whether it's a new tool, organizational ideas, or customization ideas. I DISAGREE. I have lots of Snap-on tools. When I was working on new stuff they were great. But, in my world, and I think to most of us "salts of the earth" out here, who are eeking by, driving pieces of shit, working on sump pumps, 70 year old tractors, lawn mowers, Aunt Betty's door, wild children, vet bills and an endless supply of things to fix. CRAFTSMAN IS MY BRAND. Try that Snap-on open end wrench on a 90 year old bolt and they won't fit. SnapOn tolerances are way to tight for us. Besides, I never knew a mechanic to worry about rounding off bolts, hell, even leaving bolts out. Craftsman were way cheaper and Lifetime Warranty, and the stores were everywhere. Have you looked at an old 70's-80's Craftsman catalog? It will blow your mind to what was available to the home handyman, Simply Awesome! great quality tools for the average Joe. Not many people work of stuff now like we did. It's ashamed you kids missed out on life without phones and elecktonics. Soooooo, you guys are a very specialized trade, therefor requiring very precision instruments. I see these fancy boxes and see a '69 Corvette AND a '68 Hemi Charger, along with my Craftsman Tools. So, you guys should Apreciate Craftsman Tools more. They were the Backbone of American enginuity, and prosperity. I mean, we feel the snubs, and it is unrealistic that you have no Craftsman Tools.
@andyb99942 жыл бұрын
@@randalljude6136 I can understand your whole thing there, I'm not bad mouthing craftsman I have them in my box next to snap-on but where is Craftsman now, at least in my area try to warrenty them, it's like pulling teeth...and yes the catalog from Sears was pretty cool, you could order a whole home package, was definitely pretty neat, the good old days...

2 quick questions for ya, that hydraulic tubing flaring tool can do how much exactly, does it cover all types of brake lines and fuel lines and transmissions lines or most of them? And then you mentioned the rethreading kit, wondering if my tap and die sets are good enough, yes the cut threads instead of “chase” them but I feel like it does the same thing, if u could enlighten me a little bit that would be super cool!
@randyness51232 жыл бұрын
The flare set from Mastercool does double flare, GM trans line, GM fuel line, push connect flare and metric bubble flare. As for the rethreading kit. Its quicker to grab and go to clean threads than a tap because all you need is a socket to do work with it.
@funnydubby64012 жыл бұрын
@@randyness5123 I’m a Ford tech that occasionally works on a bunch of other stuff the customers had upfitted, was hoping a kit could do it all but not sure if gm and ford are the same for that, overall tho I’ll probably just get 2 kits lol thanks for the info I’ll def get that kit added to the never ending collection!

Greatly overpriced. Also, all of the contents looks like they've never been used. At one time I had a Snap-on black multi-box setup. Within 6 months, the drawers pull-handles were failing. Locking mechanisms stopped working and the box's seams welding were failing. Snap-on didn't care. I ended up suing them and got my money back. I bought a Matco toolbox setup as a replacement. ZERO problems.

I've never worked at a dealership or any type of auto service shop and I'm currently not a full time mechanic because I operate cranes, heavy equipment and drive commercial vehicles as well.
