I never thought about just how many Ninja games there were on the NES lol. Ninja Kid is one from my childhood that was decent, and feel no one ever talks about lol. The Ninja Gaiden trilogy are damn near masterpieces, and major kudos to you beating them all. That’s no small feat, and they truly give a grand sense of satisfaction upon beating them. Oh man, Ninja Crusaders is another one I grew up playing with my brother! Now I want to fire that game up again. The Last Ninja I played on the Wii Virtual Console, but was the Commodore 64 original version. It’s…interesting lol. The Wrath of the Black Manta looks really cool (and also lmao at the New York City present day comment)! Shadow of the Ninja is one I NEED to play, and is actually getting remade for the Switch! There are a ton haha, believe me! Ninja Kid lowkey looked pretty solid for an early title. Ninja Gaiden is such a masterpiece as a whole series on the NES from the music, gameplay, story and cinematic cutscenes. They are brutally difficult but very rewarding. That's awesome you played Ninja Crusaders with your brother. I remember AVGN did an episode on the Last Ninja and man does it suck lol. The Black Manta looks pretty dope, and yeah New York is always getting invaded by unwanted guests it seems. Shadow of the Ninja is so sick. Thanks for watching, GCG!

Most ninja games are tough as nails, but my favorite is always Ninja Gaiden 2. The first is great but the second I spent a lot of time with as a kid getting my @$$ kicked. Love it.

Nice list! I was never a big platformer gamer, so I've only played 3 games on that list. I used to own Ninja Gaiden (still looking to get a cart only copy back), my cousin used to own Kid Kikki, and we used to rent Shinobi a bunch of times! Ninja Gaiden kept kicking my ass constantly, but I would keep playing because the music is phenomenal! I can't wait to see which type of NES games you'll be talking about next as these bring me back a ton of memories! Great video and keep up the good work!

Some of these games are quite fun in terms of platforming, but Ninja Gaiden while brutally difficult is super well-done with the story and cutscenes. That's awesome your cousin had Kid Niki! I actually just bought Shinobi on the SMS this past weekend so I'm looking forward to playing it sometime. Oh wow, I forgot how great the music is in Ninja Gaiden, you make a great point!! There's also Bad Dudes, although you are not a ninja yourself, these ninjas did capture the president. And in Double Dragon III there's a ninja who is a playable character later in the game.

@1:08 okay, fair enough! @2:46 I really like the look of this game! @3:08 oh hell! just one hit!?! @4:01 lol is he punching or attacking with the sword? that animation is funny but confusing 😂 I really appreciate the cinematic text screens in Ninja Gaiden! such a nice touch to the story telling @6:54 ohh! I like the moving train level! Gosh Ninja Gaiden 2 is such a good game I can tell.. the thought they put into the game with the wind blowing and the flashes of light on the night maps is *chef's kiss*! The devs really did a great job! @8:23 ninjas AND aliens? lol was not ready for that combo 🤣 @10:04 damn that is some good music! @16:52 have you ever looked into ninja games on SNES? These were really fun to see! I think I'd be most interested in the Ninja Gaiden series personally! Enjoyed this Tiger!

Ninjas were soooo popular back in this era... TBH I kinda miss seeing so many ninja games. I love the cinematic text screens of Ninja Gaiden. That went a long way for games back in the day. Who doesn't love Ninjas and Aliens? Sounds like a seamless combo to me. I haven't thought about Ninja games on the SNES, but I'm sure that would be a fun video to make! Thanks for watching, Val. Ninjas really had a cultural moment in the late 80s and early 90s. They were everywhere! Then Pirates took over... then Zombies. Weird cycles we have here XD Ninja Gaiden was the only one of these I played as a kid. It kicked my butt so much, but again it was like a single weekend of a cartridge swap, so I didn't have very long to try to master it. ...and I was like 7 :P @6:08 dude looks like Caesar Romero's version of The Joker in the Adam West Batman TV show! The lightning flashes in Ninja Gaiden 2 are awesome! I wonder if this was the first game to do the hidden-platforms except for with intermittent light. It's obviously a much more common trope today, but I wonder who was the first. Shadow of the Ninja looks SICK! I may have to try this one out! The isometric nature of "The Last Ninja" was AMBITIOUS for an 8-bit console! Dang! I didn't realize there even was a 3rd Ninja Gaiden on the NES. Looks really polished. I'll have to try it! It's impressive you beat all 3! Those games are tough! I haven't played Zen, but it looks pretty slick. I like the diff level styles of gameplay. Another fantastic list, as always! I'm excited to see your TMNT list 😀

They really did.. we also had Vampires in the late 2000s/Early 2010s.... it's always fun to see the trends. Ninja Gaiden is a brutal series. It is so difficult but so rewarding with those cool cutscenes! Oh man, at 7?! Haha good luck with that!! The entire Ninja Gaiden series is so well done on the NES. Shadow of the Ninja is a GREAT game. I hope you get to try it out sometime. The Last Ninja is a terrible game... I think AVGN did an episode on it... it was bold with that view but that's about it haha Zen looks really cool but a few people messaged me telling me it's poopoo but I still want to try it out! Ninja Kid looks solid. Legend of Kage is one I'm familiar with; his jump ability is amazing. Oh man, the Ninja Gaiden games! Humble brag? Dude, if you took those games out, train me! lol I could never figure out how properly to play The Last Ninja.

I'm loving these ninja games! Kage should be playing basketball instead of rescuing the princess with _that_ jumping ability! Ninja Gaiden is such a rad series but man it sure did kick my butt a ton before I wised up and beat it. I'd love to train you if you train me in the ways of "culture" and "plot" hehe.

Need to get my hands on shadow ninja for sure! Looks aweome ! I remember I had two ninja games on dos as we skipped over the nes as kids. One was just called 'Ninja' the other was this last Ninja game and on keyboard was pretty confusing to play haha but i have nostalgic memories of it. I don't think it was even released in europe so can't find it here lol

I was just out of diapers, and I remember playing a "ninja" game where the character would scream "pah" or something like that every time they attacked. The weapon looked like a curved sword or maybe some kind of whip??? In any case, I've been trying to figure that out for years. Commenting before watching the video, in hopes it's here.
