One of the most memorable as well as one of the most completely bizarre games of my childhood. What made this game hilarious was just the randomness. Take for example, the What The Heck? level; you fought lawyers and the music changed from catastrophic to cheese elevator music out of nowhere. The second game was even funnier. And with the graphics and animation, Earthworm Jim was truly ahead of its time. We really need to see him again. Honestly, I'd give anything to see Jim somehow end up in a Super Smash Bros. game as a playable fighter.

This game deserves far more love for it's graphics then it gets. For SNES, I think it's a top 10 all time graphic quality game. Obviously the Donkey Kong Country games are the slickest, but this was beautifully rendered and animated, especially for 16 bit capabilities.

But unfortunately Robo Chicken doesn't feature any of his boss musics in this version, both the normal fight sequence and the free fall one. Neither Snowman (the mini boss of What the heck) has it. The impact of fighting these bosses without their music is dramatically reduced.

The difficulty of this game is such that I am the only person I know of IRL who has actually beaten this one. Pretty brutal now that I think of it.
@kiyoaki19857 жыл бұрын
I think this game actually has perfect difficulty. It has the right amount of lives, the right amount of continues (and you can find extra continues by being good at the minigame). The game rewards finding secrets, you need to do some memorization but it's basically quite fair and playable. The levels scale well too, the first one is easy but they get a little harder every time. It's a bit like Battletoads in a way, with all the changing gameplay and dumb humor, but this game is far more balanced out.

I spent plenty of happy afternoons playing this game! Indeed, it was hard as shit, a few levels (such as Pod Race) really tried my patience, yet it's still one of the best game I've ever played. Not to mention the insanely weird imagery it was filled with! A cow launched into the outer space, a lawyer in hell who chased you with a wave of paperwork springing out of his suitcase, yet the characters themselves: Pete, the Psycrow, Evil the Cat... everything was so hilarious!!!

I remember playing this game as a very young teen never made past the first level of the game. Ended up trading it for another game. The trouble I have with the game is its hard to know what the developer wants you to do. Like the trash can guy you have to fight. If you just stand still and shoot him forever in the front you will end up running out of bullets. You are supposed to know to jump over the boss and shoot him from the other side. To be fair a lot of these games had only one way to beat the boss but it was fairly obvious in a lot of the best ones.
