Some facts that you guys might like to know- 1. The song was recorded for an episode where they have a child who is lost or kidnapped. It was, I believe, a special episode to celebrate either 18 years or 1000 episodes. It was aired 2 years ago. It is a cover of an old song from Mahmood's film (I think it was called Kunwara Baap) called "Aari aa ja". It is a lullaby, thus it was covered for this episode. 2. When it started airing in 1998 one of the first persons to play a cop before Abhijeet etc. came was Ashutosh Gowariker (yes, the director). 3. Abhijeet first appeared as a criminal in one of the earliest episodes before joining as a cop a few years later. 4. The earliest episodes were written by Sriram Raghavan (writer-director of Badlapur and Agent Vinod). 5. It is Dr. Salunkhe and not Dr. Saulange (Varun!). And as another guy in the comments said, the assistant doesn't change every week. She has been a regular on the show for a long time now. It's Dr. Tarika played by Shraddha Musale. 6. There are a few tropes that are repeated in each episode - "Daya Darwaza tod do", a slap at the end lands you straight into the CID HQ, at the very end ACP always gives a moral lesson concluding "ab jail mein sadhte rehna phaansi ka order aane tak." 7. There was another old trope which they have stopped using was Daya's catchphrase - "Jab Daya ka haath padta hai na toh daanton se piano bajne lagta hai, kya bajne lagta hai?!" 8. The guest appearances are always woven in to promote films. In fact, at the same time, the actors also used to feature in other Star and Zee daily soaps. 9. The science and stories were dumbed down around the year 2004-05. Before that they were quite interesting. 10. There was an interesting thread of ACP Pradyuman's son Nakul, who was a criminal and who was shot dead by ACP himself. 11. There was also a short lived spinoff(yes!) of the show called CID Special Bureau starring in the lead, Anoop Soni (Crime Patrol guy). Also it featured bolder themes such as a case of rape. 12. Daya was a shot put player before he started acting. Fun fact - he used to work out with Rohit Shetty. This info was gathered from an episode of Fear Factor. 13. CID also used to do an event called CID Gallantry/Veerta Awards. It was similar to the way the President honors persons and kids who show bravery. But since it was like an award show, it also used to have dance performances by the cast of CID. 14. The producer and the original series director of the show, BP Singh, has also featured as a corrupt cop, DCP Shamsher. He has a recurring role. He is disliked by the whole team (in the show). 15. The deaths and the reincarnation are also a regular feature. And there is another feature where one of the two Daya or Abhijeet go rogue. And in the end it is revealed "yeh sab plan tha". And the best part is that this has been done so many times and yet they repeat it. 16. The production house also produced a show called Aahat which used to air after this. They had a few crossovers. 17. The production house also had a silent comedy called Gutur Gu on SAB(Sony's comedy sibling). It had Daya in a regular role. It is good that people make fun of the thing. But I think it was one of the best shows to have come out in the Indian TV World. No other crime drama has been able to displace it in terms of ratings. Please do another episode with some more details!

Tbh, CID is not that bad. Yes, there are MANY RIDICULOUS plots used, but still, it's far better than the typical Saas-Bahu and Naagin serials. My mom watches it even today, and in every episode (The recent ones) there's something new to learn, for example my mom learnt about rigor mortis, new chemicals and a bunch of Sci-Fi inspired things, that stroke the imagination of our not so Tech Savvy generation. Afterall, every one can agree that watching CID is atleast better than watching a Woman literally washing a laptop with detergent and then letting it dry. 😂

I've seen the Tarak Meheta and CID cross over. It's waaay above the Marvel's reach. 😂😂😂

In earlier episodes when Abhijit was not a part of CID, he used to play bad guys (like chor, pocketmaar or suspected murderer) in some episodes.

As a child I was addicted to watching CID, though I find it annoying now. But tbh, I think most of us at one point of time in our lives loved this show.

That song they sung was for an episode. I don't remember the story, but the whole CID team is concerned with that baby.

so there was an episode where a guy develops a disappearing bullet(yeah) and a man gets shot and cid doesn't find the bullet so they take in that guy. Later on it was found that when the guy got hit his heart was still beating and the blood was still pumping so the bullet just went along with the blood from his chest to his ankles. YEAAAAHHH !!!!

Okay, this reminds me of the time, when my Onida TV went on channel Lock and that too on channel number 20 Sony TV. Which was something i never watched. And unfortunately, my remote stopped working. And i was stuck with that channel for almost 1 week, now you might ask why one week, Since my parents were working they never got the time to change or repair the remote. Now this was back in 2007 or 2008 i don't remember, I binged watched CID because i had no other option. It was hilarious.

What I really liked about that show is how fucking brilliant Dr Salunkhe is, that dude does everything from ballistics to forensics and that too in manner of days, most of the time he does this marvelous feats singlehandedly. Why does the dude does not have an Nobel Prize till now is beyond me.

The kid in the music video is from an episode where CID finds that kid who has nobody and Daya gets attatched to that baby while taking care of him so do Abhijeet and ACP.
