In a heartwarming ceremony that has won hearts online, the Adilabad district police in Telangana bid farewell to Tara, a Labrador Retriever known for her sharp nose and expertise in sniffing out explosives.
After a distinguished 12-year career, Tara hung up her leash.
A viral video shows officers garlanding Tara and draping her with a shawl, their cheers and applause echoing through the headquarters.
Shared by @PintodeepakD on X, the caption read, "Retirement ceremony of Tara, a member of Adilabad's dog squad and an expert in detecting explosives. She belongs to the Labrador Retriever family and served the dept for 11 years.”
Born on 22 January, 2013, Tara's journey began at the Integrated Intelligence Training Academy (IITA) in Moinabad, Telangana, where she honed her skills as an explosives detector. She later joined the Adilabad force, where she served diligently for many years.
During the ceremony, Superintendent of Police Gaush Alam presented Tara with flowers, a fitting tribute to her invaluable service and dedication.
