Ha, especially when you are not a good swimmer to begin with. I only JUST passed the Army swim test, which is 30m in clothes (no boots) and then tread water for 2 minutes haha

I had been swimming well my whole life but when I got thrown into the pool the first time at Parris island in cammies and boots I genuinely thought I was going to drown

applied for the ADF when i was 18, i completely B1tched out, getting a little older now but still young enough to get it together, have started training my ass off to get in shape, still very unfit and over weight, but over the next 12 months im busting my ass to apply again. Im putting my all into this. not going to lie though. as excited as i am, and as much as i am wanting this. im scared as hell haha.

The Australians are the best light infantry fighters in the world. During the Vietnam War, the US Army learned a lot from them. The Australian peel is still taught today. 👍

Read about that from Colonel Hackworth book, his superiors wouldn't let his troops train with the Ozzie's to learn what actually worked in Nam, so Hack had them train anyway and didn't tell anyone until he was caught. (Nothing much happened)

I went to sniper school at Ft. Ord California in 82, they gave us 15 kilo packs and an M14 on day one. And said we had 3 hours to make 20 klicks. At the end of the course we where given nine rounds of ammunition and had to zero the weapon. Lost a whole lot of potential recruits that day.

during the low crawl position / travel / course , section , I didn't fully understand why the ejection port / cover portion of the rifle faces the ground ?

Holding the weapon by the pistol grip and leopard crawling, what other direction would the ejection port face? The weapon is being supported by/on the forearm so it's not being dragged in the dirt.

@@Schrodingers_kid yeah haha actually this week was my first week at the austrian military and yesterday we had sports so they can split us in different performance groups. one exercise was pushups and most only could do like 10 haha i did 35 and there was one guy who did 73 in a row. i dont know how thats possible...

@@jakobreisinger Some can do a 100, it's all about the way you train and staying consistent. It's just that not everyone is training endurance, which is needed to do a lot of push-ups. My PB is 42, but I won't be able to do it again for a while lol

This is pre-selection mate, not training. You've experienced neither course by the sounds of it so the most amazing thing here is that you think you're qualified to make a judgement of two things you've never experienced either of
