@@CrystalMang0 How? It's common sense, if there is a re-release of the game, it would show both companies are fine with working with each other. Plus, the amount of people that would buy it, would reinforce the idea that CVS3 is free money for both companies.

Not just the ones added; the ones forgotten from the first few games. Both companies had several fighting IP that were cameos if present at all, and that doesn't even begin to cover the wider libraries of both companies.

Capcom and SNK already abandon 2D sprites for years. So i doubt they will go back using 2D sprites again for their new fighting games. At best you should expect CvS 3 will used RE engine and looks kinda realistic like SF 6. Meanwhile SvC 3 will used UE4/5 and looks cartoony like KoF XV.

That's where I disagree. If that were the case, all these fighting games that had single player content (including KOF 2006/MI2) would've had a lot more success than they did. Instead it was only a handful of those fighting games that experienced that success. Ironically the fighting games that had a shit ton of single player content are also the least popular fighting games.

@@Drebin1989 Okay but you have to also acknowledge that Kof 2006 and MI2 are in very special circumstances. Like how they were poorly advertised and how the company was going through turmoil at the time. To say that their single player content was the reason they didn't sell is a poor diagnosis. Super Smash Bros has a ton of single player content and is a best seller on every console it appeared on. Clearly there's something else at play here. SNK is in a better place than they've ever been in recent memory and there is a big audience for a new Garou game. If they play their cards right, people who are already fans of there current titles will buy the game regardless of if it has a ton of content. Having a lot of good single player content just makes them less likely the drop the game.

@@marche800 KOF 2006 and MI 2 are the same game. It was just called 2006 here in the states. I didn't say their single player content was the sold poorly. I said the fighting games that had a shit ton of single player content also happen to be the least popular fighting games. It's not just KOF 2006 either. KOF 13 (which people praise NOW but that game flopped) is one, KOF 14, Tekken 4, 6 and Tag 2. DOA 5 and 6, Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution and 5, even Street Fighter Alpha 3 at the time it came out. People prefer Alpha 2 over that. So no...its not just a very special circumstance. It has happened on several occasions. Even back then you had games like a Marvel vs Capcom 2 or a Capcom vs SNK 2 and any other fighting game you can think of back then that didn't have much of that content had more success and/or most popular than half of the fighting games that had plenty of single player content.

@@marche800 in the case of Super Smash Bros. All those Nintendo characters have more to do with those games selling well than it's single player content. There has been fighting games that had more single player content than Smash Bros. KOF 2006 and Tekken 3 being 2 of those games.

@@Drebin1989 Ooh yes but you seem to be forgetting that KOF is also a crossover series. Now if your argument is that Nintendo characters are more recognizable than SNK characters, you'd be right. However that would be and argument of brand recognition rather than single player content. The difference between Smash Bros and KOF 2006 isn't able the amount of content in the games it's about how well they were marketed and how recognizable the characters within are. KOF 2006 also had the unfortunate probably of being confusingly named which unintentionally made it compete with the mainline series. Garou should have that problem, being that it isn't a KOF title at all and is continuing a long dead franchise.

The SNK that made svc chaos is not the same SNK of today. Honestly I would have zero issues with SNK taking the lead on this one.

Yeah, to be fair due to SF6, SNK’s recent games, and a lack of Marvel, the resulting crossover may end up having more Marvel-like gameplay.
