👍 Hi Wes, I am surprised at how shallow it is there in the creek! But the fish are there and you have to fish in different places to conquer different challenges, surely. But then it looks like you changed boats perhaps? and got back to your more usual location? That Snook looked a good size Wes, a little bigger than the norm'? I love the sunrise as a setting to show your Red-fish too. You continued to have a good day and I'm sure the average size of your catch this day was better? A good day for you and a good video my friend, well done. 👍◕‿◕

Wildlife & Birds UK....Thanks Jane!! My tunnel boat will run in 5" of water and I'm always pushing the limit!! I've been fishing this 25 miles of coastline for 30 years now and know where the bite might occur so I check out as many spots as I can in 2 to 3 hours especially during the summer with the water temps in the 90's along with an air temp near 100 on some days!! This time of year I'm on the water before light and off by 9-10AM!! I've got 2 boats but this boat is custom designed to navigate the skinny water in the Refuge and the other is strictly for offshore fishing....The tunnel is the only one like this that I know of....Have a great weekend!!

@@WesLovelace Wow, the tunnel boat is fabulous for you and wherever the water is skinny you must be the only boat out there! I imagine that a heatwave could lower the water level a little? Or is it always the same depth? Enjoy your weekend too Wes 👍◕‿◕

That was really cool when you were pulling in a redfish with the sunrise and lightning flashing in the cloud in the background.

Go Midwest Fishing.....Thanks Rande!! Here lately the only enjoyable time on the water is before sunrise and till about 10AM then miserable sets in and the bite shuts down!! Here lately the storm direction is from the west and these boomers hit the coast early so sometimes I seem to do more dodging than flippin'.....LOL!! Enjoy your weekend!!

That's a nice slam you got there, Wes! The trout at the very end was a chunk, too!

Excited to be moving to Homosassa. Grew up in the area. Can’t wait to get back. I have a kayak with trolling motor. Is it to far for a kayak to the gulf.
@WesLovelace2 жыл бұрын
Nick Hatziatefanou.....Thanks!! From Mc Raes it's about 5 miles to the Gulf but there are other options since I fish the area. First you could try the Mason Creek Ramp....It's about 3 miles to the Gulf plus there are plenty of canals to be explored during the winter and when you start toward the Gulf you are on the northern boundary of The Chassahowitzka NWR where I fish to the south. There are a lot of islands to the Gulf and a cut called 7 Cabbage that will take you to the Chassahowitza River. North towards Crystal River is Ozello.....You take a left on the road and after you go over the first bridge there is a road to the left called John Brown and there is a ramp there....It's about 3 miles to the gulf but there dozens of islands to explore and you can do your fishing at low water.....That means nobody to bug you!! North to Crystal River there is Ft. Island Beach Park on the Gulf and a launching ramp right on the Gulf.....Lots of water to explore!! Head another 7 miles north up US 19 you go across the Withlacoochee River to Yankeetown. Hang a left at the light and there are great launching facilities where the River meets the Gulf!! I'd suggest you go north toward the Waccasassa River and try every creek you can!! Those are your options and I've been fishing around this area a long time.....This is still a great place to live and fish.....Just way more crowded.....Feel free to drop more questions anytime.....Sea Ya and Good Luck!!

SLAM😎👍. Nice going Wes! If you could pick only one lure, would it be a mirrodean?
@WesLovelace3 жыл бұрын
Randolph Relic Recovery.....Thanks Martin!! In the summer it's a top water when in the skinny water!! I've got 3 exact rods/reels.....One with a top water....One with a Mirrodine suspending twitch bait and a weed less paddle tail....If one doesn't work one of the other two usually will!!

@@WesLovelace I'm just guessing. But, I'm thinking it's working pretty dang good👍. You're consistently slamming the fish!
