F-15E Demo Practice Seymour Johnson AFB

******A lot of Chatter on the scanner. F-15E Demo team is practicing while 2 SJ KC-135R's are meeting the Thunderbirds over the North Carolina and Virginia border. The Tankers which are assigned to the 916th ARW based here at Seymour will refuel the Thunderbirds and bring them to Seymour Johnson. The KC-135's can be heard on the scanner as BACKY 41 and BACKY 42....their getting pretty antsy on returning to Shady-J but they have to hold near Raleigh and then North of Seymour near Esther NC until the F-15E demo is complete.

I go to that spot all the time to watch aircraft fly.... best time is in the evening you can see the afterburners

Brings back memories! Demo team would practice on Friday's. I worked on the yellow tails from 09'-13'. I forget what jet was on the demo team but that looks like 474.

Holy shit listen at 7:13 you can hear the air slamming against the bottom of the jet as he whips it around. Freakin sweet video and audio!

Yes you are able to get closer and we were until the base Security Forces told us to back up a little bit just for safety reasons because the F-15E Demo team were getting ready to go up for a practice demo.

This video was shot a few days before the March 16, 2011airshow. The Demo team has been disbanded now since a few months ago.

What is the restriction far as how high low they can fly over the public? To me the F-15 & F-35 are the loudest when afterburners are in full use
