Snorkeling and kayaking Siesta Key | Point of Rocks | Crescent Beach

December 7th, 2021 we traveled across central Florida from Rockledge to Siesta key where we launched our kayaks into the Gulf of Mexico and did some snorkeling at Point of Rocks. Point of Rocks is a series of limestone rock formations located on the southern end of Crescent Beach on Siesta Key. Even if you’ve just started snorkeling, you’ll find Point of Rocks to be more than suitable for one of your first ocean adventures. The clear ocean water in the Gulf of Mexico made this an awesome adventure.

My youngest wants to find a great place to snorkel. Enjoyed as usual and Mrs. Kayak did all she could do getting the yak back after all that fun. 😂

That is awesome! On the east coast of Florida I recommend Peanut Island in Palm Beach County, but if you are on the west coast of Florida than Point of Rocks is good. Both are excellent for beginners to get their feet wet.

I love the kayak coupled with snorkeling! I see the water is cold, but I wouldn't mind if that's how clear and beautiful the water is.

I stayed down at turtle Beach so I usually just walk the mile and a half to 2 miles down to the other side of pointer rocks where the private beaches and snorkel from there I’m going to spearfishing there next month. I read online that’s legal to spearfish there I can’t wait, it’ll be my first time. I just ordered my Hawaiian sling.

Wow, you went underwater this time. What an amazing experience. Never done scuba diving yet. But I'm dreaming of doing it someday. The water is so clear, I love it's pure sound when you picked up the occupied shell. ❤️ Sorry to leave you a comment so late. I got sick from the 3rd covid vaccine, but I'm better now.
