Snow ATV Trail Ride | Jemez Mountains | Can Am, Yamaha, Honda, & Polaris

We head out for a trail ride in some deep snow in the Jemez Mountains in New Mexico. In this group ride is a Can-Am Outlander, Honda Pioneer, Polaris Sportsman, and a Yamaha Grizzly. Riding in the deep snow was super fun with some great laughs as we were being banged around a little bit from rutted-out trails. As we climbed in elevation the snow was slowly getting deeper to a point that we stopped and turned around to enjoy a campfire and lunch.

We get a small opportunity to ride in snow and mess around in it. New Mexico leaves the road unmaintained in the winter and lock the forest entry with gates. We will soon be able to get back into the mountains come next month.

With that much snow, I would never dare to drive there atleast not alone. But what a great nature you have there with the pinetrees, it actually looked like some places here. You guys have been better with snowmobiles at the end there 😊

To have snow mobiles would make this a fun ride to keep climbing. They close this area down in the winter because the snow gets to deep to get in there and they don't maintain any roads. The forest will open in a couple months again. I will be back here riding.

9 degrees!? WOW, that's not a temp us northern's associate with NM. And neither is all that snow. I know it's there in the higher elevations, it's just not the picture in our heads - lol - 9f = -13c Will that snow stay all winter up there? You need to get some of those nice CanAm grip and thumb heaters. Man, it looked like an absolute beauty of a day! Tons of fun!

I know what you mean about the comparison of Canada and New Mexico. It is hard to believe we have comparable temps. The elevation is what makes it cold and snowy. For New Mexico this is normal in our northern mountain ranges and to be completely honest we should have more snow for this time of year and it should be a little colder. We have had a very warm and dry year for us. The snow will stay all winter long and in our higher elevations snow patches will linger into July or August. The high point for this range is 11,500ft. I was at 8500ft. I was thinking about investing in some grip warmers. Thankfully the gloves I had on I didn't even feel the cold. I appreciate you watching and support buddy,

This is funny to watch, I think of NM as the desert and your in snow, just rattles my brain lol , but I would that you can do desert and then snow if you like ......think I need to move south lol

New Mexico has 2 opposite landscapes. High elevation mountains with snow to the north. Low elevation and desert scenery to the south. I think we are lucky to experience complete opposite landscapes which gives us lots of riding opportunities. You are always welcomed to come and rip on some trails my friend. I know the feeling, I would love to hit trails out your way for a while. Thanks for watching my friend.

It is super awesome to ride in some deep snow. Where do you ride? There is a lot of Elk and Deer in this range, plus the snowshoe hares rabbits. They blend into the snow so well since they are white lol. Thanks for watching buddy.

These are some great guys to ride with. We have been wanting to get together for a ride and finally made it happen. The snow made it super fun to ride in. I live down at an elevation of 5000ft and no snow, its crazy to see this just over an hour from my house. This is some great country to fly the drone in. Thanks for watching buddy.

It was a lot of fun to hit the trails with the ATVs. I enjoyed getting in there and checking out all the snow that was there. Average there was about a foot of snow. Once we got up to 8850ft there was closer to 2ft and maybe more if we kept going. I hope you guys get some snow up your way. I love the snow and how it blankets everything.

That is wild that there is no snow up your way, Minnesota is usually snow packed, am I right? The state just released it snow depth for this mountain range and it is sitting at 60 percent of its normal snow level. I am glad you enjoyed the drone shots. Stay healthy and Merry Christmas buddy.

That is wild you guys only have a few inches of snow. I don’t know much about the winter up your way but I am pretty sure you guys should have a lot more snow. The mountains for my state are all well below normal for this time of year with how much snow we should have. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of winter plays out for us. I hope you guys get the much-needed moisture up your way as well.

Man, driving in that snow looks like a blast! That's when having an ATV like that is way better than a full-size car; you are way lighter and nimbler, and I'm sure recoveries are a lot easier, haha. By the way, is there anywhere to buy the ManzanoMan stickers?

It is a lot of fun to snow ride, almost feels like a strange way to go skiing lol. You glide over the snow and you're right, it is much easier to get out of some dicey situations. That is when a winch comes in handy. You don't need to buy any, I have some to give away buddy. I will make sure to give you one on the 9th.
