The thing about Snow is that he blew up just after Vanilla Ice had. People thought he was another 'imposter' but he actually was from the street, and, had skill. This man needs respect.

Out of all non Jamaican artists to me snow always got the purest love from Jamaica..his Melodie’s were just so natural and A small but interesting fact almost all non Jamaican artists will talk in a patois even in their interviews where snow sang the music with a patois vibe but he never seemed like a try hard In interviews trynna force a patios accent, he’d sprinkle in some for exclamation but never was too phoney about it like all the rest..this dude was so much more than the 1 hit most of the world knows him by..he’s gonna make a comeback mark my words

Here’s what makes all that your saying fit in that it sounds about white category. The guy made the song and got a pass on it from a label that was not ok with anti cop music and held that standing for awhile even today. But they promoted this song with open arms because some white dude song it. He took on an accent and took it to a level no one truly born with it could without dying. Over night bro got a straight pass and Elvis his career.

As an American, I was a kid while Snow became a think on American airwaves. Me and my siblings got hooked immediately. The general consensus from people here was “oh that white guy who made that one catchy song that one time”. People didn’t take him seriously here because the vanilla ice craze had just died down. And here, if an artist was white they were automatically considered “a joke” act. We didn’t have KZfaq at the time so you couldn’t see interviews like this on a wide scale. No one here knew he got banned from America and Japan. Man I’m in my 30s and I’m still learning stuff about Snow. But one thing is for sure: Snow is way bigger than most people here in America ever learned to appreciate.

@serene1275
@serene1275 4 жыл бұрын
Snow is dancehall/ragga who's a MC. MC is rapping. Look at the Jamaican MC from old schools back in the 1970s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Eminem rap Hip Hop songs. MC/Rap are the same in the way the words are spoken not singing.
@kuekuatsheumotley7902
@kuekuatsheumotley7902 4 жыл бұрын
@@serene1275 In the real Hip Hop Culture, Mcing and rapping are not the same. Nelly was a rapper who sang. Drake is a rapper who sings. Queen Latifah was a rapper who sang. Hip Hop MCs are defined by lyical content and complexity, ability to move the crowd, ability to hype and showcase the DJ. Dancehall is not built on the Hip Hop CULTURE established in the 60's and 70's; a part of Hip Hop was taken from Dancehall and expanded. Snow is Dancehall and you cannot compare him to one of the greatest rappers and lyricists of our time. The comparison starts and stops with skin color. Snow is a credit to his genre, but to compare him to Em is like comparing a Camaro to an Enzo. Not in the same class.
