Snow Miser's thin, lanky frame gives him more surface area relative to his volume, creating a large energy-exchange interface and allowing him to stay at a temperature close to that of his frigid environment. Heat Miser's rotund body minimizes surface area relative to volume, so he passively retains more heat and can easily maintain a steel-melting temperature.

While the Miser Brothers are complete opposites and despise one another, they have one thing in common, however. Looking at all the great comments here, they both have the ability to bring the child out of adults and continue to make us laugh. Merry Christmas everyone and never lose the childlike wonder.

RIP Jules Bass - Jules Bass, Co-Producer of TV Holiday Staples, Is Dead at 87 (death October 25, 2022) Thank you Jules Bass for making my childhood so magical, your contirbution to animation is still being enjoyed by many, I know that we will continue to keep your memory alive , I'm sad to have not had the chance to say thank you in person as a fan of your work, but I will say it now, Thank you Jules Bass, may your memory and works live on for others to enjoy [ "Jules Bass, who created an animation empire with his business partner, Arthur Rankin Jr., that produced perennial Christmastime television favorites like “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and “Frosty the Snowman,” died on Tuesday in Rye, N.Y. He was 87. His death, at an assisted living facility, was confirmed by Jennifer Ruff, whose mother was Mr. Bass’s first wife. The Rankin/Bass studio was a major force in animated programming, mostly on television, from the early 1960s to the late ’80s. Some of its TV shows and movies used traditional hand-drawn cel animation, but it carved out a separate specialty in the stop-motion puppet animation familiar to viewers since “Gumby” in the 1950s. Rankin/Bass’s stop-motion specials included “Rudolph” (1964), featuring the voice of the folk singer Burl Ives as Sam the Snowman; “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town” (1970), with Fred Astaire as the narrator and Mickey Rooney as the voice of Kris Kringle; and “Jack Frost” (1979), with Robert Morse voicing the title role." ] article www.nytimes.com/2022/10/28/arts/television/jules-bass-dead.html

It's true. As little motion as they placed, they made sure each frame had class. Every frame felt alive. Goofy moments like Snow Miser spinning around felt more-so. For villains singing about being too-much, they were quite the masters of minimal.

Aye, I think that pretty good Stop-Motions come in two flavors: These Rankin-Bass forms that may look rank amateur, but has a hell a lot of character to win you over, and one where every little detail is animated, especially the leaves that are just a treat to watch in motion. Neither are inherently good nor inherently bad, it just depends on how it resonates with you. And honestly, I can appreciate the Paranormans and the Wallace and Gromits, but please reconsider if you think I hate Rankin Bass for looking the way it does. They have their serious charms and it's pretty awesome it endured the test of time the way it has.

This was the Christmas cartoon we especially waited for each year. Along with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer! We would scroll the TV Guide or TV daily to see when it was going to be on, just so we wouldn’t miss it! We had the best childhood! And Rankin-Bass outdid themselves with the Snow Miser/Heat Miser song and scenes! And it was a great story overall. And Mrs. Claus was voiced by Shirley Booth who played Hazel on the TV show Hazel had an unique and iconic voice, which she did a wonderful job on both of these shows.

I actually got to play Heat Miser in my high school's production of _The Year Without a Santa Claus._ I wore a large orange wig that itched like mad, tights that rode up like no tomorrow, and sweated myself dry under the hot stage lights but it was a blast. “A Year Without A Santa Claus” is arguably one of the best Rankin Bass Christmas movies because of the Miser Brothers and their timeless, catchy theme songs.
@oneandonlysound34532 жыл бұрын
It's wierd, the way this movie is made it feels like it's two entirely different stories being told at once. However, the well written storylines around every characters involvement, reveal of whom is the miser brothers mother, and Santa Claus heartwarming moment with that family-it all comes together and works like 100%. I'd only argue that it's a shame they didn't come back in a rankin bass production-namely not like a sequel to rudolph and frostys christmas in july-which I think is RIDICOULOUSLY underrated and treated bad for no reason because it's longer than the rest.
@demi-femme48212 жыл бұрын

This song was the only reason I wanted to watch this movie as a kid. Snow Miser seems so cheerful and nice at a glance but would leave you cold with the cruelest pranks if he doesn't get bored of you and just gives a cold shoulder. Heat Miser looks like a hothead but be a guy you warm up to after a while. He seems outwardly antagonistic but he's just as hammy as his stepbrother.
