Part 3: • Snow on 'Informer' Bei...
Part 1: • Snow Grew Up in Gangst...
--------
In this clip, Snow opened up about linking up with MC Shan in Queens, which led to Shan finding out that Snow could rap. From there, Snow spoke about recording a host of songs at Shan's house, including "Informer," which they also shot the video for. Snow also spoke about signing a label deal before going back to Toronto, where he was sentenced to a year for an assault charge. While in jail, Snow's "Informer" video dropped, which led to inmates asking for his autograph. To hear more, including Snow speaking about a limo picking him up from jail, hit the above clip.

I'll never forget this guy - black man - who was desperately trying to get some space on the Canadian air waves from the CRTC [like the FCC in the US] for the Toronto area. He still hasn't succeeded. He was facing alot of institutional prejudice that questioned whether this proposed station format would have a "universal appeal" [nobody asked that of Country 101.5 or whatever]. This guy, in a heartbeat, pulls Snow's name out of his mouth, saying, "this guy is both white and Canadian - I don't really know that much about him but they love him in Jamaica" Snow is legit. He's a bit of cultural unicorn, but he's legit.

@@weknowbetter592 lmao since the msg comes from a level of intellect that couldn't tell the difference between knowing _your_ shit, and knowing _you're_ shit, serves as one of those beautifully timed Uno reverse cards that in turn reveals Vtor isn't the one here sparking actually pity and much needed well wishes from onlookers. So on that note... There, there, buddy. You'll catch on one day. Just keep sounding out those vowels and practice spelling those 3 to 5 lettered words. Starting only with the most basic and applied. Then, in maybe eight or ten more years, that fifth grade grammar will come naturally. But the best part of all, you actually WILL "know better". Here's hoping. 🤞

I love stories like this, esp. supposed "one hit wonders" who are still enjoying life and feeling blessed. It's a shame that the music industry is so cutthroat, chewing up and spitting out artists because they "don't hear a hit single". Imagine people like Bob Dylan, Elton John or even Bob Marley trying to come up today?
