This is my favourite song from SP in the whole wide world

Snow Patrol has such an expansive back catalog and there's so many songs that i love that i'd have to make several lists but i remember hearing this song on the first listen of 'Eyes Open' when i brought it way back when. There are certain songs that stop you in your tracks and leave you mesmerized. This song did it for me. It's the song that i always have in my mind (among a few others) when i think of this band changing from a great band into an absolute legendary one. This song is so unique because it tells a story over a passage of time with the melody being a race against time for the singer to be forgiven for a betrayal. It's such a passionate, pleading and emotional song, and i'm swept up in it when it plays. What takes it into the stratosphere (if that's even possible) is when he add libs more lyrics at the end. "And the light it leads me And the light it leads me To your door"

This has got to be one of Snow Patrol's most underrated songs. What an absolute masterpiece. Everything. The lyrics, the melody, the harmonies-hell, even the main chord progression is genius. Chapeau, mr Lightbody.

played this in Dublin last Tuesday. I have seen them a few times over the years but my god they were so good and I mean incredible.One of those bands that can actually sound better live than off a recording.
