I thought I would share a video of plowing my driveway with my 1949 Cub. I call this tractor "The rub a dub Cub". It is absolutely reliable and never fails me. Thanks for watching please like, share and subscribe.

What a relaxing 12 minutes my young friend. I'm 71 and my Grandfather purchased what I believe was a brand new 1951 or 52 Farmall M just before I was born in 1953. I have years of memories of him and my Uncle using it on there two farms and he built his own wooden snow plow and special ordered a canvas wrap around that sent the engine heat towards the driver and kept him out of the bitter cold wind. He also ran a buzz rig for cutting firewood. Unfortunately that same tractor tipped over backwards when the utility bar caught a stump in the dark and Killed my wonderful Uncle when he was only 52 years old back in the late 1970s. This happened simply because it had no ROPS and he was trapped between that seat and the steering wheel. I actually put in a garden with the tractor several years later on his farm but a year after that my Aunt walked up to the Barn crying and kicked all the tires and sold it the very next day. I am crying now as I write this story as my Uncle was my second Father after my Father passed in 1961. I know you like keeping your old tractor looking original but a good welder could put a roll bar on in just a few hours. I just subscribed also.

About 65 years ago a local car dealer added tractors to the busines, an older man who had farmed with horses and was now a salesman loved selling tractors,his favorite sales line was, It's only a little pony but it' does more in a day than any team I ever saw. Think Massy Harris made the Pony
@fireman74155 ай бұрын
They did make the Pony. I'm sure it was a big deal when the horse farmer was able to get a little tractor. We're spoiled. Lol. Thanks for watching

Got to hurry to push that wet snow before it melts. This size tractor is perfect for pulling out carrots in the garden too.

I have a 49 as well and plowed with it a couple of times for the novelty of it. . They are great machines! But I got soft and just went to the Bobcat with door, heated cab and halogen lights! And a bit faster, but enjoyed your video!

I learned to drive on a farmall cub. Dad and I overhauled the engine once. Plowing and disking plus lots of dragging things around. Also mounted a mower deck on the back with it's own engine. Some side sickle mowing too. Lots of memories 😊😢. Stay away from fire hydrants. Just saying that the tractor gets high centered on them. Don't ask 😅.

I'm 78 (Arkansas) and my dad had a '49 model Cub. I now have a '53 cub. They were designed to do the work of a team of horses. They aren't perfect, but close.

@@fireman7415 I can't remember what part of PA. are you from? I'm in Westmoreland County. Near the New Stanton/Youngwood area. It's been at least a few years since I did any kind of snow removal. If we did get anything it would melt in a day.

It´s not big and brute, but it does it´s job well! Small and nimle is often better for homeuse. I think theese tractors, the cub and the A, are very cute and fun with their righthandsteed and leftside drive (motorplacement). Nice to see!

Now there’s a man after me own heart. If I was in a good enough financial position I would buy a field and then a little grey fergie and then just drive it around the field. Around & around & around & around. Do you get the idea Good video ……no great video 👍🇬🇧

Nice machine! That engine is sounding very healthy. I bet it'll run for decades more. You definitely have a nice little compact utility tractor there that's the perfect size for snow removal. Only 12 HP, but that's plenty. I plow with a Kubota B6200 from the early 1980s (with 4WD); my plow is mounted on the loader. My tractor is almost the exact same size as your machine, it only has 3 more HP. It's great, far better than using a pickup truck, as it can easily fit into tight spaces and turns on a dime. This may be personal bias, but I do think the older compact tractors such as yours (and mine) look much better -- and more like big tractors -- than the modern ones in this size and HP range. The modern ones...IDK, they just look like oversized ride-on mowers. Just a quick question: how is that plow going up and down? Is it a lever running off the arms of the 3-point hitch?
@fireman74154 ай бұрын
It is run by hydraulics mounted under the gas tank in the middle and an are that runs to the front. There's no 3 point on this tractor. Thanks
