Thanks for watching my first reaction! I'm so excited about this channel, and I'm looking forward to making more videos. The dwarfs are a barrel of laughs. Snow is a lucky lady having seven hilarious sidekicks. Grumpy, I love you!
The plan going forward is to watch Disney films in order and watch other non-Disney films every other one. Does that make sense?
Please let me know in the comments any film recommendations you have for me?

Just a heads-up for those who have a bone to pick with the mirror for constantly outing Snow White, the queen calls him "Slave in the magic mirror," so given the use of dark magic in general, I don't think the mirror had any choice about telling her the truth. Probably magically bound, forced to always answer her with the truth.

I wonder what happens to him after the Queen doesn't return... Hopefully Snow goes back and takes him with her, presuming she didn't actually die at the end... Thanks for commenting Brandi :)

Disney should have re-released this movie into theaters, they would have made nothing but money. I am 68 and I saw it as one of my first movies and loved it and I would pay to see it again in theaters

This old film is WHOLESOME! And fun and simple goodness! The new one, if they keep on making it as planned, won't be even 1 percent as good.

Both Sleepy and Grumpy are voiced by Pinto Colvig who was most known for being the original voice of Goofy and Pluto (he also did Pete before Billy Bletcher was cast) and voiced several one-off characters like The Grasshopper from The Grasshopper and The Ants and the Gingerbread Man from The Cookie Carnival, plus Practical Pig from The Three Little Pigs shorts.

Better than the new live action remake. Such a shame we don’t seem to value the classics like this anymore. Well, I think the people do so I should say it’s a shame Disney themselves don’t seem to value their own heritage.

the remake is being made to bastardize the original movie, the 1937 movie is full of modern messages for women empowerment more than any Disney movie ever made , after all it wasn't made for just women it was for everyone considering it was made in the absolute worst time to be alive , the 30s , and it's simple , work hard , be positive, wish for your dreams and it will come true , but According to so called " modern Audience" working and being positive are off the table, snow white hands down is the best strong female character ever written and shown on a screen period

In some adaptations of the OG tale (with 3 direct attempts by the queen), the queen disguises herself through black magic in 3 different ways: old woman, old man, and finally, little girl. What little kid wouldn't trust a fellow kid? Remembering, of course, that in the OG, Snow is only 7.
@brandiarmstrong2902
@brandiarmstrong2902 Жыл бұрын
Also, disguised as a little girl, the queen pretends she's lost trying to get to the nearest village, where she's tasked with selling her family's apples. There's a not-so-subtle reference to her parents being violent with her if she returns home with any apples in her basket, and she asks Snow for directions. As a thank-you, she gives Snow the reddest, juiciest apple from her basket, but Snow tries to say no. So the queen cuts it in half, saying she'll split it with Snow, who obliges after the queen bites into her own piece. The queen had, unbeknownst to Snow, fused half of a normal apple to half of the poisoned one. Snow, of course, "dies" after biting into the poisoned half.

If Snow is only 7, then how old is the prince in the OG version?! O,o
@brandiarmstrong2902
@brandiarmstrong2902 9 ай бұрын
@@Keyboardje apparently, she was able to age before the queen made her final attempt. She lived with the dwarves for many years, the queen believing her dead. I don't know what made her check after so long... Perhaps the same hubris that hit Hades between the eyes 18 years later after he sent Pain and Panic to kill Hercules? Villains tend to be extreme examples of hubris.

Old movies like Snow White and Wizard of Oz put the credits before the movie, so that the only thing that came up when the story was over was "The End." Considering credits nowadays can last upwards of 10 minutes, I can't imagine the audience staying seated that long before the move starts...

22:49 They already had bars of soap they washed Grumpy with, so perhaps Dopey was sent away because he was being annoying? He did still catch the soap though, in a way.

There's a theory out there that Snow actually *did* literally die, and the ending is her going off to heaven... A literal *castle in the sky.* Notice that, even when she "wakes up," she never once opens her eyes...

OG fairytale she didn't die in fact in one version they accidentally dropped the coffin and the piece of poison apple logged in her throat came out. She still married the prince.

And Disney doubled her age. In the OG story, she was 7. And the queen still tried to off her b/c she's prettier. Ridiculous, but the saddest part is that in some versions, the queen isn't her stepmom, but her birth mother!

after this movie Snow white was made Walt Disney bought his parents a house with the money, and sadly a gas leak occurred and his mother died, feeling guilt for many years this is why Walt Disney made sure every film had a parental figure die or loss of someone close and dealing of grief - like with Bambi Walt disney showed the film to kids { it was so sad when the mother died } the kids cried so the scene was changed to what we know of today. but his films like Snow White delt with issues of trust, loss and so on

Holding on the Queen’s face while Snow White succumbs to the poison apple is far more character driven. The Queen is having her moment of triumph. It’s not kiddie it’s just cinematic storytelling.

Doc and Sneezy's voice actors are comedians who used stuttering and exaggerated sneezes in their acts respectively. I love how Grumpy is actually the only careful/sensible one, in not initially wanting a stranger in their house, especially when it may lead to the Queen taking revenge on all of them. I'd guess his opposition to women partly comes from his fear of the witch.

Great video. I watched this film over and over, easily over a hundred times between the ages of 3-5 at the very least. I really miss hand drawn animations, they are really stunning. Me and a friend of mine are watching all the hand drawn Disney classics, we finished the Jungle Book last time. Old school Disney is the best.

28:18 Fun fact many people including myself theorize that the skeleton reaching out for the pitcher was Snow Whites own father. The Evil Queen legit imprisoned him and left him to wither and die while she took over his kingdom and abused and tormented his daughter. Sick stuff.

26:24 Most of my life, I've actually looked a lot like Snow White. Super-short dark hair, rosy cheeks, pake skin, the whole 9 yards. In fact, I've only had long hair a couple of times in my life, specifically to cut off a foot of hair for Locks of Love, an organization that uses real human hair to make wigs for people who lose their hair from cancer treatment. It took me 4 years each time to grow out my hair long enough to cut. I decided to keep my hair short after that because it's hotter than hades in south Louisiana, so having a long, shaggy mane is murder.

The dwarfs have just three fingers and thumb because that's how most cartoon characters are drawn, it's faster and more economical to draw three fingers instead of four, hence why Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Yosemite Sam, Yogi Bear, Fred Flintstone etc. all have that. The dwarfs are more cartoony compaired to Snow White, The Queen, The Huntsman and The Magic Mirror (which also were easier to animate, not much different compared to Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck or Goofy, you can get away with Squash and Stretch unlike the human characters who were more roto-scope based).

Just imagine interacting interacting with Snow White , so soothing so feminine you just want to help and assist willingly. Please, women, Feminine energy is NOT weak. Just wielded differently. You can see here there's like maybe 1 Grumpy type but even he cares in his own way. I said my piece . Wish you all the best.

I feel for queen Grimhilda ,she was insecure about herself and that drove her to do that . Since Snow White didn't die ,not that much harm done . The queen could just have used her magic to make herself younger and more beautiful.
