5 жыл бұрынHow many people can say they invented a sport? Very few, and Jason Lee is among them. In the early 1990s, Lee and a buddy built a snowboard/skateboard hybrid with a little mountain bike thrown in, dubbed it the mountainboard and created what would become mountainboarding. The board sport offers the thrills of snowboarding, but you don’t need snow. Or mountains even. We’ll let Jason show you where and how it’s done.

And suspension system, sometimes brakes, and specific tires with treads. Regular solid urethane wheels wont work here. Plus it can’t be a skateboard, too short and stiff, and it can’t be a super long flexible bamboo longboard.

We had a Lil kicker in our backyard in Kihei Town Maui in the early to late 90s...Called Maui Greenwave...Jason Lee came to our backyard to check it out cuz my Uncs Grover Cleveland AKA Grovestar AKA Uncle Pauly AKA Gramps was and still is surf/skate royalty...you know da kine...anyways I used to skate bare foot surf shorts 1 Miller Highlife in one hand one dumb kid...but Jason ended up giving me a Grasshopper Mountain Board!!! Mahalo for that Jason Lee and Uncle Paul...u already know !!! Aloha!!!

I use mine without the heel straps and push it like a skateboard. So it's possible to ride skateparks and even street spots without a downhill run in. It's is pretty much an all terrain board, so you can ride it almost anywhere - even on the flat 😉

Ive been mountain boarding for 20 yrs and you definitely would rather have the straps. Feet come out exactly same time as you fall. No knee serious injuries from this sport, but falls can be hard compared to snowboarding but not as bad as skateboarding.
