In this clip from episode #7003 of the 'In The Trenches with Ryan Roxie' podcast, Phil X talks about his dream of being a guitar player and goes over some of the bands he's been associated with, starting from the canadian Avril Lavigne to artists such as Alice Cooper, Tommy Lee, Rob Zombie, Chris Cornell, Uli Jon Roth as well as filling in for Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi. This eventually led to Phil becoming a permanent member of the band in 2016, and has since toured the world with Bon Jovi.

I saw them at Anfield stadium in 2019. First timeInsaw them was at Milton Keynes 2007 fabulous.

Saw him on the first few shows on the opening tour after ritchies departure. Phil was a little nervous and chopped up some licks here and there. A couple years later I saw them again and I wished Jon had retired too and left the band to phil. Great guitarist and great singer!!

I have seen Bon Jovi three times with Phil X and the first time was when he filled in for Richie Sambora in 2011 and while the five times I saw Bon Jovi with Richie will always have a special place in my heart because he’s the reason I picked up a guitar in the first place there might not be a Bon Jovi anymore if Phil X wasn’t able to step back in. But while we’re on the subject @RyanRoxieOfficial you’ve talked with Orianthi and with Phil X, so what about Richie Sambora? It would be a true highlight for me because you guys are two of my favorite guitarists!

Iv subscribed. I love Ryan Roxie. Bon Jovi is my 2nd favorite band next to Kiss Alice Cooper 3rd lol. Kiss and Bon Jovi have alot in common the Desmond Child connection same record label for years. Now the Tommy Thayer replacing Ace and Phil replacing Ritchie Sambora. Ritchie was unreplaceable in my opinion. Bon jovi new stuff is horrible no soul just Jon singing simple crap. Kiss was able to reinvent themselves in the 80's Bruce Kulick was an amazing guitar player.

Phil sounds like a very down to earth guy. Rumor has it he was only making $10k per month. Hopefully thats wrong and he got paid well.
