If you recently bought your first snowmobile, you're in the right place. I'll help you get started building your own toolkit to carry with you. You don't need expensive or specialized tools, especially for older sleds. In this video, I'll show you what I carry to give you an idea of what you should include in your toolkit.

Everything you have plus a roll of hundred mile tape, thick zip ties and a long ratchet strap in place of a tow rope.

I can't believe I forgot zip ties! One of the most useful things I could carry, and I don't. I'm not joking, that's a great idea and I can't believe I didn't think of it. Thank you for adding those things. Hadn't thought of a ratchet strap, either - I can see that being useful. I'm going to pin this comment, so hopefully more people see it.

I really appreciate your videos. I've been riding for 30+ years, but still learn things from others every day. I've watched several of your "beginners videos", and still managed to learn a few things. You're never too experienced to continue learning. Thanks!

Good topic and suggestions. I would add: Zip ties, electric tape, and a regular screwdriver that doubles as a pry bar. A tow strap is way better than a rope because it folds flat and takes up less space.

Great suggestions! Excellent point about a tow strap, as well.

I try to keep some bailing wire coiled up too. And while it's not necessarily a toolkit I'd keep spare park plugs and make sure you have a spare belt. Not all new machines come with spare belts or toolkits anymore which is a shame.
