This week STV looks at odd balls! Odd ball sleds that are in the market, some that never made it to production and even a sled that was just made to set records.

As we have found in electric vehicles this winter Electric doesn't do well in cold temps!

Bill here with Northwoods Snowmobiling LLC. I love the fact that you guys showcase new, old, upcoming, and builds. So much more interesting than just showcasing the latest. Appreciate the content

Thanks Bill. We try and make every show a bit different and not fall into a formula. There is plenty more random stuff to come!

Excellent show, in the past I've had skidoos and Arctic's but when I bought my first Yamaha it was a 1979 Yamaha twin special 300 white and red snowmobile it was lightweight and fast. Chris from Pennsylvania.🤗

I really appreciate your content, without magazines this feels as close to home as that does. Not everything is going to be a homerun but still interesting to see some new technology out there, ignore the haters, keep doing wjay you're doing kind sir!

We have no snow and no open trails, no one around here cares.

They are using taiga at the xgames for participant transport. Only real world test these would do well at. 🤷

Electric sleds will go by the way of the Electric car. Flash in the pan!
@jeffsteenbakkers44356 ай бұрын
I think they can work and be effective in certain circumstances like a rental fleet where charging and routes are the same day to day. I don’t see any electric sled working for how I like to enjoy sledding.

It's just the battery tech that's holding them back right now. Once Solid State EV's hit the market, the EV will greatly outperform gas vehicles in every way. Power and Range. Toyota is ready to bring solid state to market in 2025.
@melvinchamberlin8236 ай бұрын
I got a comment I wouldn't buy one but it will probably be all right for people close area around their house cuz if that battery goes dead I would not want to push that blessed thing because the gas won't you be able to work on it if you can change a spark plug up but the electric motor and you know you can't touch it cuz it probably kill you or the battery would but it'll be all right around like in a town or close to home but not out on a you know I went on one but anybody else if they want to buy it then go ahead but I will not buy one have a good day for a electric truck or electric car have a good day sir

Heavy industry has been doin it this way for a long time. Seems to work pretty good. I think the hybrid systems are more practical for sure.

Nobody wants your electric sled unless it's under 5g. Electric needs to go far away from snowmobile

I dunno, these episodes are getting pretty boring as of late. You’re getting away from core snowmobiling to more of a walk around and talk show.
@jeffsteenbakkers44356 ай бұрын
That’s because there was no snow outside and it takes time for a show to work through the system. I’ll be goin for my first ride if the season today and it’s mid January!!
