It started Rough & got WORSE! the Ford Gets stuck plowing Snow that turns to ICE while plowing, the back blades fights us, the sledge front tire goes flat, the tire on the TLB comes off the rim, and we are short handed one person.

You ever consider buying a older truck with a service box and equipping it with a gas air compressor generator and tools so when you are on a site you have appropriate tooling for repairs. You could put a blade or a Salter on it also. With that much operating Equipment all at once things are gonna break regardless of your prep time. You could have drove up with air on board and pumped up tires on the spot.

Ah, the "caught with your pants down" snowstorm! If you've done it long enough, you've definitely had one(at least!). Because the only thing more fun than hooking up plows and finding out what doesn't work is doing it in darkness while laying on the ground in wet slush! And for every passing minute spent dealing with "the work before the work" the snow is getting heavier and harder to move.

@@Dirtmonkey the cost of a fully equipped service truck is underestimated by most people that are not in the industry. Most of your equipment seems new enough to be reasonably reliable, or even borrowed/loaner/demo type stuff where you don’t need to deal with the repairs. So, honestly I don’t think the cost of a service truck would really be justified for you. Regardless, If you want to see some nicely equipped heavy equipment service trucks, check out cottontop’s videos on his experience kitting them out AND wearing them down. Let his half million plus investment and experience with them give you a heads up if you do go that route.

Had a situation like that before without a backhoe or assistants. What worked was deflating the tires on the truck and then using a portable compressor to get them back up. Also some Deoxit or similar products go a long way on plow connectors and trailer harness. For ice buildup under plows a digging bar helps.

Timelaps is pretty good. It compacts just as you compact the snow :). I like the way Andrew Camarata does his videos, where he shows in details in the beginning, how it's done and then move to timelaps, to make it more interesting and not "long" for the same action. Not saying I don't like long videos, but keep it interesting is key and with timelaps it's a good help for sure. I have no problems with your videos. Yes, the time-lapses are the bread & butter of these types of videos. It pulls it all together somehow.

That back blade is a cool set up. Very impressive how much it was able to plow in reverse.

love time lapses. If you don't time-lapse I end up doing it myself by fast-forwarding when you are not talking. Also, love the director's commentary. I really did like this one, not that I don't like the others.

Idea that popped in my head. A pull blade, but its heated, so when it gets like this it will help to prevent getting stuck

I always leave my blades outside so they are cold. The snow sticks to a warm blade. Also when you move snow that is not really well frozen it melts itself together, and freezes solid when you slow down or stop. Much easier to plow when it is really cold, than when it is just barely frozen. If you get that pile between the blade and the truck it is some work to get it out.

Hey long time viewer. Season after season I see you guys getting better and better . I think you guys can REALLY benefit from farm tractors and snow blades ... Here in Quebec canada pickup trucks are super rare with snow blades . You have #1 ag tractors and #2 loaders . You don’t even need to own the tractors just rent them from farmers for the winter period. Low running cost and lots of power
