Winter Snowstorm camping in my 1979 VW Bus. 1 foot of snow coming in this spring snowstorm. Probably the last one of the year. I went back out looking for a cozy getaway one last time this year.

Thanks my man, totally appreciate it. What I didn't cover was that if you saw early in the video my damper pipe had sheared off. So I didn't have a damper. Having the 2 90° elbows in the piping totally acted as a damper and worked perfectly! I highly recommend this setup. Thanks for watching dude!

That's what I'm saying man! No noisy clicking fuel pumps either! I always hated how they need battery power too. Plus, I've spilled diesel inside my GTI, took a year to mellow out! That was awful haha. And with this chimney setup, you never need a flue! Up, 90 right, across, and 90 up. I'd simply add a log every few hours. Awesome! Thanks for watching man!

Breakfast for dinner is the best. I cook hashbrowns or potatoes in the bacon grease which is super great, just not so healthy. lol

@@hoppycamper When I was in my youth, I got to camp for one night in a VW Micro Bus. It was an amazing experience. I know it was made in the 1950's or 1960's, it had all of the windows around the top of it. My experience was when I was in my early teens, so that would have been roughly the mid 1970's. My apologies for calling your unit a Van, I knew better than that. I don't know why I said that. Another interesting note, that huge VW chrome metal piece on the hood I still have. The reason I have it is because those were my wife to be's initials and I knew the family that owned the van. VW was her initials until I ruined everything by marrying her some 40+ years ago!

What a cool bunch of initials to have, never even met a VW, then you had to go and ruin it! haha I hope it worked out well for you and her. Don't you dare apologize, these things are called all manner of names (Samba, Kombi, Van) all the time! Glad you kept the chrome logo, I still have a white logo off a splittie from a junkyard in Georgia in the 90's, those were super cool busses with all that glass! I love seeing them, but these bay window busses are so much more useful and modern than those. But not nearly as pretty! Thanks for tuning in man!

Dude I could too! Does get a little tight after a few days in the snow but so cool. I'd usually pop the top but keeping it down helps keep it warm. The top makes all the difference. If I had to live in it, I'd want a high top so you could at least stand up. Thanks for watching buddy!

Used to have a Westie drive it from Temecula ca to Greenville Maine camping all the way because I had a functional gas heater in back it was completely restored and then while I was away it was stolen never to be recovered 25 years ago really miss it now that I have a class a mh

Haha I can see why you'd think that! What you probably see is the the bumper. That's all danged up. The muffler is right before that and it's actually made by vintage speed out of Thailand, not a cheap setup but nothing on this is! Thanks for watching man 🍻

Haha I waited till dark for the beer 🍻 (barely)! I wanted to focus a little more on the sensory side of this trip so I did some chilling some cooking. What I mostly did the second day was lay low and I brought my computer so I did some editing.

Thanks buddy! Those are General Grabbers, 14.5x7's or something like that. You gotta special order them (tirerack..com) and have a shop do them. They will say they won't fit in stock rims. They're wrong haha
