We got another dumping of snow at the cabin but that didn't stop us from splitting the last of our wood for maple syrup season! After the work was finished the sun poked out for a little bit while we enjoyed a hot lunch over the fire! Winter is wrapping up around here and we're just about ready to tap trees and boil sap. Once sap season is finished winter will likely be over and we will be ramping things up on the homestead! Stay tuned for what's to come!

I lived off grid for 7 years and we did firewood to pay the bills and I think you have a excellent amount you can get through any winner, I happen to know that it's possible to do 6 chords a month. My routine was split tost and stack and then deliver, I love the fact that you put it on your porch real close real Handy and that you have so much there's nothing wrong with having enough firewood to staying warm.

Yes, a lot of hard work and it sure does help make you appreciate how easy we have it in 2022 compared to people who lived 150 years ago! Thanks for watching!

The drone shot at 0:06 is really beautiful. Would love to spend some time pottering around at a cabin in the snow. Makes you appreciate the simple things.

Nice! Since my wife and I retired and became snowbirds, I really miss spending time at our cabin in the winter. Looks like a decent amount of snow finally.

Great video as always. You’ve laid in enough firewood to take care of the winter needs of all of Canada. Lol

You’re probably right, considering all the trees we lost from the storm last year! The wood we split in this video we will be burning to boil our sap in a few weeks! 🍁 🥞

This wood is for burning when we boil sap for syrup 🍁 we also need 3 cords of wood at home for each winter plus wood for at the cabin 🪵

Stop cutting trees. You have so much firewood already!

We are not cutting trees down. These trees are on the ground from a storm earlier this year. The firewood we are cutting is for boiling maple syrup. We also use firewood to heat our home and the cabin.
