Snowy Lakeside Camping Adventure: Hot Tent, Good Food & Hiking!

In late February, 2024, I set out for a 3-day/2-night camping adventure at Kiser Lake State Park in West Central Ohio. This was my first trip with a new tent: the Naturehike Ranch Fire. I brought my wood stove, which helped me stay warm, dry, and comfortable the entire trip. I cooked 4 good meals on the wood stove, went for a beautiful, snowy hike, did some fishing (but no catching) and enjoyed my time by the lake! Thanks to all for watching!

How come these tents don’t come with a floor? Strange!

It's mostly to avoid the floor being burned by embers from the stove. It also allows for better airflow to prevent condensation buildup in the tent, and to allow sufficient airflow into the stove. The big thing for me though is that I tend to track a lot of snow into the tent. With a floor that'd all melt and sit as water on the floor. Without the floor it just seeps into the ground.
