We've been grinding for a bit with Akuma in Master rank, but it's time to finally get enough MR and hit Legend rank. I've learned a decent amount more with the character and he's looking a bit stronger than I initially thought.
Street Fighter 6 is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

@@zerevity007 who cares about side switches, something so niche only a few characters even have and actually use effectively. that's such a cope out. every character has back throw and walking forward over jump-ins, that's more than enough. akuma has the best tick throws in the game as well so a backthrow into corner is trivial. and saying his corner carry isn't crazy when he has several moves that sticky you to the wall is insane.

I dont even know the setups with akuma and crushing players with footsies and fundamentals so in the hands if a great player it's amazing.

Might be top tier....yes water is wet. The lower health is such a non-issue.

It's definitely a non-issue for like, ranked. But in a tournament setting a lotta people might not pick the character who drops out from a couple bad guesses

@@scuppoIn ranked you need to win more than you lose. In tournament you need to NEVER lose at all. Top players can definitely keep doing that with Akumas great kit and damage, im just saying it's not a non-issue when it comes to consistency. And they're fighting other top players too, not randos

Raw Demon deals slightly more damage than CA-however, in another comment, @DQuertyLoL just verified that a combo ending in H Adamant Flame > CA was 18 damage stronger than L Adamant Flame > Raging Demon

After testing, ending that combo with heavy Adamant Flame > CA does 18 more damage than light Adamant Flame > Raging Demon. So mid screen the CA route would be optimal, but not enough to kill. I don't know if you can get more damage mid screen from whiff punish PC 5.hp. Ending with light tatsu , lp.dp > CA would've done 55 damage less than the Adamant Flame route.

Akuma to me is easily the best character now. For top players his utility I'm sure makes adjusting super easy. Just look at that delayed five kick on Kim

Akuma has far too quick a recovery time on the vast majority of his attacks. It's kind of obscene. In the hands of a skillful, aggressive player, he is damn near OP.

In SF you win by hitting the opponent first and/or guard their attacks in that priority. You do not win by face tanking hits with your HP pool. Akuma is strong and his weakness can be worked around with the right decisions. Weaker characters can't work around shit buttons and options. This is not a reaction to the vid, just calling out the people who say hp pool = balanced.

Akuma is a corny ass easy mode character. Sad to see so many people flock to him. People don’t wanna work for their wins, they just wanna have that good feeling of “winning” the easiest way possible.

I think Akuma is a fun play, but not top tier, nor is he scary to fight against. Here me out. Because of the denfesive mechanics in SF6 he is relatively easy to counter. All his tools for pressure can be drive impacted or jabbed, so really what does he have to keep opponents afraid. When ypu fight a Marissa, Ken, Zangief, hell even Honda, there is a respect for each character. Akuma in this SF just doesnt have that respect. Very fun play though 😅.

you can dp, jab and di out of kens pressure too…. akumas offense is just not as strong as those characters, and thats okay. hes got everything and more
