You can use the green shade to blend itself out... I don't know if that makes sense. But working with her mattes, I can always blend one shade out but then build it up on itself in the deeper parts to give depth. Her mattes are super user friendly.

Agreed. More than any other matte formula I’ve tried, sheering out a Pat McGrath matte performs as a lighter shade of the same color rather than a patchy version. I personally would have buffed in the green sheerly on the upper crease and then built the dark green up in the crease and blended them together with a clean brush.

I just love how the palette is broken up if you turn it sideways it's 3 6 pan color stories combined. I personally would have just liked them to be separated, and not in an 18 pan format. 🙏🏼🥰

Assuming most of the shades are excellent quality, I would say this is actually a good value. It comes out to $4.56 per shade and, while the Mothership pans contain more product, those are each more than $12 per shade.

Pat usually only does the “special shades” in her 10 pan, 125$ USD, Mothership palettes, that she usually only releases one per year, and she had some limited edition quads, that contained the “special shades” a couple years back.

I like this mega palette so much more than last year’s palette. Last year she didn’t include enough mattes. I do agree with what you are saying about the shimmers not being special enough. There needs to be a happy medium.

As always, thank you for an honest review that one can trust as you above virtually all extensively knows and is aware of eyeshadow formulas and whether they're good quality, meh or bad and cost involved in making such shadow formulas. The cost of this palette together with there being no special shades at all and me being able to use other palettes that have similar colors make it a big pass. Angie, so sorry for your loss, just remember "she came into your heart one day so beautiful and smart, a dear and sweet furbaby, you loved her from the start, and though you knew her time would come when you would have to part, she will never be forgotten as she put paw prints on your heart". Oh sweet Angel. I am sending prayers to Bastet for your kitty. Enough of that. I love that green with that blue colour. The gold has a green undertone that makes it look almost like the green shirt. I have both of her other Holiday Mothership Palettes and the first one has quite a few multichromes in it and the second one has a few special shade formulas so maybe this ne is more made to be an addition to the first 2 in the way that this one has colorful mattes and colorful shimmers. The first two barely have any mattes at all.

I absolutely LOVE that red, blue, and green you used! But I do agree cause I thought the other big palettes were $75 so I thought this one would have something a little extra with the shadows being that it was her first colorful one. But you still did some really pretty looks!

I think you’re right one special shade would’ve elevated the palette. I’d love to see you create more looks with this palette if possible(?), say a pink / purple one and a boring neutral one. Charlotte tullbury is on that same list for me. I just can’t drop $40 on a lipstick. It makes me queasy just thinking about it. And to get one or two “special shades” is not worth $170 either. Some days I feel like I’m the crazy one because every looses there minds when products drop. Nope it’s definitely not me who’s crazy 😂

I love that Pat tried something different for the brand. The price is too steep though and above what I am willing to pay, if it goes down to around 70 US dollars maybe I'll reconsider. I am also waiting for other brands to release their holiday palettes, so I can choose one or two and then I am set for this year's makeup spending. :)

Well I must say we are paying for something and not for customer service in shipping ! I paid for express and ordered the first day and still no shipping confirmation.. I am still waiting on it .. I think next time I will wait and order from Sephora .. but the looks with this so far I have seen is beautiful ! I totally agree with you about this palette. I did buy it and I do love it, but like you said for this price point these days there needs to be at least one special shade. This is definitely something I will be evaluating in future palettes before I buy. Thank you for your review.

Love the looks 🖤🖤 I have so many PML palettes so I was gonna pass on this one but when I saw the mattes I had to. I am loving the looks I have been creating since I got it on Friday. I have paired it with the special shades from 2 mothership palettes I have.
