1.96 Average (2nd on WR podium) - 1.58 WR4 Average without DNF.
I'd like to clarify that me asking for an E1 on the last solve was a very stupid decision. I didn't know the regulations for an E1 in that scenario but now I know for next time. The last provisional extra didn't count so the extra solve didn't benefit me in any possible way.
This average makes me sad. I've been going for something good for basically my whole life and this is a little frustrating to say the least. I had the best start I've ever had and I don't think I'll ever get close to how well I started in this round ever. After my 4th solve I knew I needed something good for OcR and WR, but I kind of forgot how easy it was for me to lock a PR average (1.91 to tie PR on one of the last solves). The 4th solve was really easy and I missed a good solution on it which is a bit sad. The last solve was just me missing a move on a 4 flip which should've gotten me PR at minimum. I honestly think I should've went safe for PR average on the last since I knew Jasper had already broken WR on my 5th solve. This was honestly hard to think about since I had WR BPA as well and knowing I had to beat a World Record average to get a record/win the competition was scary. The reaction after the 5th solve is honestly ridiculous. I thought it was World Record and it's honestly embarrassing looking back at it. I'm sorry to everyone who had to experience the bad side of me, I didn't mean to act in such a sad way after not getting the results I wanted.
Alright now with the sad stuff out of the way, here are the positives coming from this round. @julesgraham SUB 2 AVERAGE!! 🥳🥳🥳 Congrats Jules, so happy you managed to break that mental barrier! Much more insane Pyraminx averages coming from you in the near future! @jmurraynz TIED WORLD RECORD AVERAGE!! I honestly didn't know he was on track for WR so that was a very epic moment. So happy New Zealand/Oceania is back on top with the average! Congrats Jasper, you'll destroy it again soon! And lastly, the Pyraminx World Record podium! Jasper, Jules and I ended up getting the World Record Podium with a 5.48 total sum which is 1.83 on average. I can't wait to take this lower with you guys, sub 5 soon :O Overall, I'm extremely happy with my first 3 solves and I think I can definitely get something better at my upcoming competitions in the future. This is just a small thing that I shouldn't worry about since I'll beat this in the future.
