Kim So-hyang (born April 5, 1978), credited as Sohyang, is a South Korean singer. She made debut in 1996 with the song "MR", which was released on Naver Music. Despite having a long career in South Korea, she was only able to make her international breakthrough in 2014, when she became the first Korean artist to sing the American national anthem at a NBA game. Sohyang also achieved fame when she sang with Kirk Franklin. Her has participated many times on television music competition programs Immortal Songs 2 and I Am a Singer, winning twice on Immortal Songs 2 with songs "Lean on Me" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water". Disney's making contract with her in movie Moana, Sohyang voiced the protagonist in the Korean-dubbed version, for the singing parts. Sohyang's voice type is a Lyric Soprano, specifically a Full Lyric Soprano. Her vocal range spans from D3 to A6, a total of 3 octaves, 3 notes, and a semitone. She is known for her emotive and powerful vocals with characteristics being a homogeneous, rounded, and bright instrument of remarkable beauty and meticulous control. That program is a competition of masked singers. In other programs, she isn't in a mask. Could you react to more sohyang's performance? I am a huge fan of her. And I am a Korean. When you watch her singing performance, video with English subtitles will be very helpful understanding that songs mood and theme. Im sure you may have figured it out but Kim is her family name (Her husbands). In Korea (Asia in general iirc), family name comes first. Kim Sohyang. Typically they can tell what family you are from and even generation just from their name.
