Sohyang is truly a great singer. She sings songs with soft and sweet tones well, and sometimes sings songs with high notes that seem to pierce the sky and reach the universe at a master level. She sings songs in the R&B genre, CCM genre, jazz genre, and sometimes opera/musical genre. She is the best singer. She doesn't even make any forced sounds to show off. Sohyang always performs her songs naturally and smoothly, conveying her many emotions and stories. I can imagine Sohyang imitating another singer's performance and song, but honestly I can't imagine another singer imitating Sohyang's performance.

I'm currently looping this song! The lyrics is about the melancholy of lovers which seems to have to part ways from each other. (according to the eng translation version vids in KZfaq) From "Sweet Dreams, My Dear" i know that she can do soft but powerful, but this song is on another level. Funnily enough she didn't go beast mode or gospel mode here but I got to bawl my eyes out the first few times of listening. In case you miss it, last year Sohyang launched EXODUS consisting of 3 songs (Exodus, Higher, Stand Up) and Higher acoustic version. After collaboration with Petra in 2022, they have been doing projects and posting on Sohyang's official channel on KZfaq. You definitely should check it out. It's great to hear something new from Sohyang. This was such a delicate, beautiful and emotional performance. Richard your reactions are so insightful. If you are looking for live performances of Korean singers, Immortal Songs 2, a Korean variety TV show, invites known singers and groups to reinterpret well known songs. The studio audience votes for their favorite performance but there are no prizes. Sohyang has participated 10 times between 2014 and 2023. And Forestella has been on many, many times. A new season is just starting and I hope to hear my favorite Korean singers in upcoming episodes as Forestella and Sohyang. Forestella was part of the opening show on January 6, 2024 and sang 2 songs as a trio. I was glad to see they are still performing and hope they can reunite with Ko Woorim when he has fulfilled his mandatory military service.
