Ma'am, you just mixed up fictional spaceships.

The best part of the original series is that every ship has unique features, the main ones at least. In the remake all ships are alike making that detail a sad loss for sure.

This is an absolutely meaningless and insane rant, but I can gleam one thing from it, someone is actively reviewing Legend of the Galactic Heroes in 2024 and this makes me very happy.

I have mixed up Ulysses and Hyperion too.

This is the cutest rant about this show I have ever heard XD But honestly, identifying ships (fictional or not) can be quite cumbersome sometimes. Sister ships from a same class can have the tiniest details different, which means from a broader viewpoint they look the same. Like identical twins. Now if they turn ships into beautiful anime girls like in Kancolle or Azur Lane, you certainly wont mix up the names lmao

Mixature of art styles is an interesting topic. OVA animation was a work of multiple studios collaborations. On top of that, early 2000s restauration had ton of staff from first 2 seasons redrawn by the same studio who worked on few gaiden stories. That's why OVA sometimes switches from hand drawn to digital animation.

I noticed you mixed up the Hyperion and the Ulysses but I figured that was just a mix up lol. In other new I wish the Triglav wasn't scrapped :(. She has such an interesting design

When you watch a space opera like its a soap opera technical stuff like which ship is which gets lost in translation.

Don't hammer yourself too hard... I used to mix up Dusty and Yang. 😅 It was on the second watch I realized that in some scenes where I expected Yang, it was actually Dusty and vice versa. Those were mostly some minor scenes, but green and blue scruffy guys gave me some confuse. 💚 💙

Interestingly, DNT turned the Ulysses into a next-gen battleship...with the same blueish color as the Hyperion haha!

I'm dying to hear your takes on the gaidens. Though i guess breaking them down for reviews might get a little weird now that you've seemingly taken my advice for chronological... I really wasn't thinking about youtube episode clusters when I made that suggestion.

The sizes are different too, with the Hyperion just being way bigger in general. I haven't done the math, but I wouldn't be surprised if she had more than twice the internal volume of Ulysses (the thicc!) Also I could have sworn one of the first appearances of the Ulysses had her identified as a cruiser, but Gineipaedia says she's a battleship which would make sense since she was supposed to be scrapped according to the Treaty of Ba‘alat.

Death penalty (I made the same mistake while first watching)

Hyperion is Yang's ship. Ulysses is Dusty's ship. Sometimes I forgot which ship is which because every FPA ship design is the same. At least the Brunhilde is different design and the rest and the Schwartzlantze are black ships
