Reviews on Steam cry that in their first couple dozen attempts they won't be reaching first place. I would say it's about time the AI can fight you for first place and you need to learn the new mechanics, learn how to become bolder on the tracks and collext your first upgrades before you can reliably reach first place in the difficulty setting the game chose for you. So far I can only reach second and third place, but I'm having fun fighting for it, instead of having a lead of half a track nearly all the time until I reach tier 4 and EVERYONE kicks my ass. Reaching thir place is enough to unlock upgrades, that'a a "good enough" that will have me move on but occasionally come back for revenge.
@CrazyTasteyPi2 жыл бұрын
Full agreement there. I hadn't even touched the first Redout specifically because I saw how easy it seemed to be to beat the AI in that one with little to no effort. I'm enjoying that I'm not playing a game that's going to hand me a win every time on a silver platter.
@Longshotrider2 жыл бұрын
I'm kinda sad at how many reviews seem disappointed that this isn't just an update to redout 1, or that people have been saying how much slower the game is compared to the first. It's like they forgot you didn't just start at class 4 events. Meanwhile the second game has speeds rivaling class 4 in the opening events and (at least in my opinion) improves upon so many different aspects of the first game. Maybe it is a bit too hard for some people, but from what I can tell it seems like the difficulty can be adjusted to make things easier and more enjoyable for people who have difficulty with different mechanics. Though I suppose I've not tested it enough to see how much it can help. For me at least, I appreciate the difficulty, and the fact that breakneck speeds feel more dangerous and earned rather than like I hit the right button at the right time lol.

Problem is guys, when people like me who loved Redout 1 have problems beating tutorial level 3… Also you can cheese your wins with the rubberband mechanics. At least i could. Just dont boost until 70-80% Race done then get in first place and yeet away before they can catch up.
@cdgonepotatoes42192 жыл бұрын
@@Artoran15 Just remember that your health bar is there so you can burn it for more boost, you can boost while on hyper-boost to go even faster and you can prevent dying due to overheat entirely by tweaking the assist settings, which will prevent you to keep boosting after you reach a set amount of health of your choosing, and if you keep getting bronze on one of the early events do note you only need third place to unlock your first upgrades so you can try the various events again once you upgraded your stats a little. If the game automatically set your difficulty to Redout, there is no shame in lowering it a little as Redout difficulty is no longer medium, but medium-high if you want to see more silver than bronze even on your first attempts at the game. You can increase the difficulty once again later, when you gain some more confidence. I'm also a long time Redout player, despite my struggles in the first title not having faded on latter end of tier 3 and tier 4... everything. I also struggled to get time on tutorial 3 but if it wasn't for it, I would've still had to learn later that it's fine to eat into your health for boost so lesson delayed, not learned.

I hate the right stick controls of Redout (1 and 2), but I love, that you can fully customize the controls. So my old reliable F-Zero GX controls still work (with straving on the shoulder buttons). Took me some time to figure out what "increase" and "decrease straving" means, but in the end I figured it out. (increase = strave right, decrease is strave left) Anyone else using those controls?

I feel like now after the patches the difficulty is almost perfect. Meaning, super hard in a good way. Although before you really have an advanced sense of the controls, the early Speed events are completely irrelevant to try, and even then nailing platinum requires almost perfect runs. So I'd say maybe the early Speed events should be more aligned with other types of events in terms of difficulty, and ramp up the same way as others.

I’ve seen a lot of bad reviews for redout2 on Xbox. I played the first game, Is there something wrong with the new one?
@kingofthemoon30632 жыл бұрын
The new tracks are designed very differently from the first game, the events are brutally difficult immediately out of the gate, speed events are extremely difficult to the point where even veteran players struggle a lot with them, unlocks are gated behind completing events so if you aren't good enough you aren't getting them until you are, the tutorials forget to tell you some important stuff until later, and you cant use your customized ships in multiplayer. For high-level players its not a big deal, but for everyone else the difficulty is a problem. For me personally the problem is that I don't like any of the new tracks. None of them feel as unique or interesting as in the first game. In Redout 1 every single track had a unique setpiece section that made it stand out and instantly memorable, Redout 2 tracks lack this. For the record though, I like Redout 2.

@cdgonepotatoes42192 жыл бұрын
Lunare is a combination of fastest and most maneuverable. This is not a new thing, the relative stats are the same as they were in Redout 1 and when it came to make the best time on a track, it was either a Lunare or Sulha at the top. Of course part of the fun in a racing game is learning how to drive all vehicles well and get a first place with all of them. It would be extremely boring if everyone used the Sulha and nothing else, that's like cutting 2/3 of the available content
@Joltout2 жыл бұрын
Haven't unlocked it in the Career mode yet, but I prefer racing a bit of all the ships, more than just sticking to one.

@@cdgonepotatoes4219 That's the thing with these stats that's annoying: The Sulha was able to beat the Lunaire on most courses, but the Lunaire had the highee top speed and Accelaration stats.
