For a ps2 game this was beautiful

I did like MGS2 and lo and behold I also liked Raiden, he was a good character his whining made sense since no one was telling him anything. Most people hate Raiden just because he isn't Snake, and I don't mean that he isn't as good as Snake but the fact that he isn't Snake himself, most players were pissed that they couldn't play as Snake... that was stupid. The story was amazing and trippy (like seriously that last area with places being named after organs... sheesh) and the goal of the Patriots was pretty cool and ahead of its time. But yes, the game has a lot of backtracking because, unlike MGS1, it isn't really a linear game where you get deeper into the facility, it's more like going into a set of rooms with a lot of shit inside so I can see why people can dislike that, it's understandable but I enjoyed it a bit because there was always something new in them every time you went into them as the plot progresses. Then there's Rose... I don't think we should talk about our love life while a vampire is trying to kill me, Rose...

What I find interesting is the complaints and views surrounding the gameplay and narrative from Mgs1 to Mgs5 1 "So many codec calls and cutscenes" 2 "So many cod- WTF!? Where is Snake?" 3 "What is this campy nonsense? Why is the camouflage system so big?" 4 "Why is the camo system so basic? Too many cutscenes and codec calls." 5 "Where are all the codec calls and cutscenes?"

This was the very first MGS game I played. I _did_ read up on the story and characters of the first game before I started playing though, since I knew it was supposed to be lore-heavy. And my god did I fall in love with the series.

Oh and... thank you for clearly displaying the music tracks you use. I would never have known that... that whistling song you sometimes use was from a game called "deadly premonition" That jazz is highly unorthodox.

My only complaint is that i didnt like any of the bosses, especially since none of them have stealth mechanics. Even mgs1 had the brilliant 2nd vulcan raven fight where you could stay out of sight and use literally any weapon against him. And as i recently found out- you can actually hide from metal gear rex behind crates and barrels and make liquid comment about it and look for you

I simultaneuously consider MGS2 to be the worst game ever made for newcomers to a franchise, and the best Metal Gear ever made overall. Also, I can really relate to Kojima. As I often exclaim a big "fuk utu"

Dud. Bruh. bbz. That fucking "history" lesson was hilarious. I too loved MGS2. A lot. My first time through it was really crazy and that ending came seemingly out of no where. Really the most annoying parts were the codec calls between fucking rose and raiden. You were dead on with the game feeling longer than it is. It's such a fucking journey, in a good way as you said. Dis whole review is spot on! Also ALMOST 600 SUBS DUD!!!!!

I played through all the Metal Gear games on ps3 a few years ago. Id have to say this was my least favorite in the series. The node system and crummy camera really hamper the game for first time players. I feel that mgs1 may have been simpler and such, but it was built better around tbose limitations. Also, why do you not get the sword earlier?

15:24 they had to use another voice actor for the remasters since they were multi platform and PS2 controls are not universal.

The worst thing about the metal gear series excluding 5 I'd that there's no guide or safe space to get a grip with the controls your just dropped in completely blind I definitely would have continued to try the games more if I knew it was that bg&e arcade stealth

I really don't like this game. The gameplay was bit shit, the storyline was way way way over the top and just silly.

I watched the whole video although it was absolutely cringe worthy. This game is an absolute masterpiece and quite prophetic actually 25 years later. I probably won't listen to anymore of your videos since your breakdown was so shallow and strangely vengeful.
