The irony is that there's a 15 minute short that came out after the first movie called "Megamind: The Button of Doom," and not only did it have Will Ferrell and David Cross back but the animation being on the same level as the first movie. It's honestly funny how a 15-minute short managed to be a better sequel than the ACTUAL sequel movie.

As Megamind is my all time favorite Movie, the Sequel didn’t just make me go to the Motions but shattered my expectations for a Sequel in the Laziest and Cheapest Way Possible, I thought this was going to be a Last Wish Scenario but without the Main Ingredients all I felt was Pure Disappointment, Kung Fu Panda 4 better be Worth It.

The imdb reviews are so low. But I'm not surprised.

In the Megamind universe, 2 days is enough time for social networks to advance drastically.

I haven't watched it yet, but hearing that the villains raised part of the city. Reminds me of a plot point in TMNT 03. Where the triceratons raised Beijing into the air. This movie even copies what TMNT did in the follow-up episode where the turtles go to save Beijing from Shredder. They save the city but also put it backwards.

According to NBC News while filming Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: ChipWrecked, David Cross didn't think he needed to be present for the week of filming onboard a Carnival cruise ship, since he's unrecognizable in the pelican suit anyway. The worst part of the sequel is that in the original movie the whole point of megamind's arc from villain to hero was his development from a lonely life and poor influence to being understood and finding his place as a hero rather than a villain. Adding the doom syndicate implies that megamind was never alone and never had a reason to be as distant and questioning of his life and villany, Destroying not just the entire character arc of megamind, but the whole plot of the first movie. Without megaminds villany there would be no metroman rivalry, no roxane romance, and no titan for megamind to develop from. But i have come to the conclusion that megamind 2 is totally not canon and is in fact a fanfic developed by discord mods with no prior knowledge of the masterpiece that is megamind, phew dodged a bullet there guys 😗💨

The problem is doing a new series with all the original voice actors would cost way too much because they had some very big names in that original movie the short was different because they only needed will and David for not so long of screen time

Megamind 2 could have been the start of something like Megamind discovers that he’s had a multiverse ray this entire time and he didn’t know he could have just left his reality to be a bad guy in which ever he picks with Roxane and metro man trying to find him in order to bring him back in order to not destroy the multiverse. meand seen like Shrek , kung fu panda maybe minions where they make a joke about minion and minions and every time gru says minions, minion would Point to Himself like the Spider-Man meme. Where’s that mustache guy , they forgot him. He could have been the Nick fury for all of them.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Megamind did not NEED a sequel BUT if they were GOING to do one, then ALL they needed to do was bring titan/tighten somehow. Have Hal still be obsessed over Roxie, have him be angry at Megamind like he was. Have HIM contact the Miraculous Ladybug rejects, Have HIM attack the city WITH the lady bug losers. Have Megamind save the day. It's THAT fucking simple. Can you even call this a sequel? Considering that it has absolutely nothing to do with the original movie.
