Just a reminder, Geoff isn’t the only one who can sing bass notes. Eli can and lane can being a beat boxer. So the bass under Geoff’s singing is lane in this song. Beat boxers are able to hit very low throat bass notes (throat singing)

Why is it that I love VoicePlay being silly, but also love this dark side? It was perfect from the lighting to the outfits. I WANT CESAR'S COAT!!!! Geoff would make such an amazing villain. Thank goodness he's a goofball, otherwise we'd all be in big trouble.

As fantastic as everyone was, cesars guitar is the highlight for me on this one. He does a lot of the synth sound for the various songs and is just so versatile

I get the most out of reactions when the people reacting have some musical training. I had never heard that little stepped intro that you talked about when they all came in slightly delayed from one another. And now I’ll never hear that passage without hearing that as well. So thank you for increasing my appreciation of the musicality of the piece. This is absolutely stunning. When he starts singing Geoff almost (but not quite) appears vulnerable and then you see his descent into madness. I think it’s interesting that J, Eli and Cesar sing a lot of the lines about the temptations of Esmeralda, the weaknesses of other people, and how it isn’t his fault. That choral portion when it segues into something suggesting church bells ringing emphasizes the fact that he was a high ranking member of the church. That makes his position even more vile. That leaves Geoff to be able to voice all the twisted evil of the character. And wow does he pull that off! He blames her, he blames the devil, and he even blames God. And then that switch gets flipped.🔥🔥🔥 I’ve always hated the character of Frollo but found the song to be beautiful and powerful in a very disturbing way. Because they didn’t only present the evil, Frollo almost seems human in their cover . There is some speculation that the bass line that you hear prior to “burn it” was actually voiced by Layne. He is certainly capable of hitting those lows , and he has not started beatboxing yet.

By the way, Tony Wakim is the guard here. He got to hear Geoff call him an idiot. Hellfire is stunning, wicked and completely unforgettable. So glad J None was down for this. He's been promoted and moved from Seattle to Washington DC which makes it easier for him to get down to join VoicePlay.

We keep saying VoicePlay has outdone itself, and then they go on to do just that. And Geoffs solo Halloween video is equally exquisite. You need to react to this years Bass Gang album. Arabian Nights and Be Prepared is already out and more to come.

Absolutely earned my subscription. I love how happy and excited you guys are for music. It got me feeling upbeat and happy too! Not sure if you guys know phantom of the opera. But they did Phantom (a loong time ago) with Rachel potter. I thought It was rewlly good. But i know phantom can be hit or miss. Its very theatrical. And she had amazing chemistry with Tony.

I don't know about you, but I felt like I was listening to rock music but also an opera with this arrangement. And I don't know if I'm wrong, but I think that the servant who tells them that Esmeralda left, the voice is Eli.
