Something I do like is that instead of something he randomly found in a marketplace, Aang's Bison Whistle is actually something he made from a gift from Bumi.

We were confused about Bumi but by the end, we felt it all made sense. In the anime he was fun loving. Here he is tired from the war, he’s been leading a losing battle for a very long time. He’s had to make hard decisions. Right or wrong - he doesn’t know why aang disappeared. But he is angry that his friend who was supposed to do something about it, wasn’t there to help.

Iroh’s second VA also said in one of the ATLA panels that he refuses to sing that song out of respect to Mako the original VA 🥲 So they might stay away from it and it could be the reason they took the instrumental approach.

Wierdly, I was one of those people that didn´t watch the animated show before the live action came out, but the scenes with Iroh and Zuko made me cry so much and of course as soon as I finished the netflix show I watched the anime.

For first I dont like the series but after saw many react video. I accepted the change and start to like it. Not the best but still a good show

Which is how it should be, we don't need the same thing again we need something different, a true artist should never just copy another artist's work (referring to the directors/producers/writers of this show).
